Pay: Starting at $25/hr. plus overtime and per diem.

Summit Envirosolutions’ Reno, NV office is seeking Archaeological Technicians for an upcoming excavation project in northeastern Nevada. Work is expected to start March 4^th and last several months. The project includes paid safety training (MSHA) and requires standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e., vest, hard hat, steel toes, and glasses. Summit can provide all PPE except footwear or prescription eyewear. Per diem is provided to cover lodging, meals, and incidentals, and overtime over 40-hrs./wk. is likely. The project will be based in Elko, NV which has abundant hotel, food, and sundry options.

Environment:

?

Work will be outdoors in variable winter weather conditions. You must have appropriate clothing to work in inclement weather.

Able to repeatedly carry, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs. of equipment associated with archaeological excavation (screens, buckets, shovels, picks, etc.).

Able to hike with equipment up to 0.5 mile over variable terrain.

Able to work in a team environment.

Able to follow instructions and abide by safety protocols.

Able to work up to 10 straight days in the field and/or have a flexible work schedule.

Qualifications:

?

Minimum bachelor’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, or related field.

Successful completion of an archaeological field school or demonstrated excavation experience.

Valid driver’s license.

Experience working outdoors in semi-remote/rural locations.

Basic compass, map, and writing skills.

Good organizational skills including describing, labeling, and tracking collected materials.
