Harris Environmental Group (HEG) is looking to immediately hire three Archaeological Field Technicians for a project in Utah.?
There will be a zoom orientation call on Tuesday, 5/6, and then techs will be working an 8-day session, Thursday to Thursday, at 10-hours per day (including rated paid travel time). The pay rate for this project will be $22/hour plus daily per diem. Project schedules and pay rates are reviewed with techs before they start each assignment.
HEG typically provides lodging for all field sessions, utilizing local rentals and ensuring techs have clean and comfortable daily accommodations.

*Ideal candidates will be located in or around Utah, as we are not able to fly techs in and out for field sessions.

Field Technicians are responsible for assisting the Crew Chief in identifying and recording cultural resources in the field. This includes identifying and documenting all types of regional artifacts and features, thoroughly filling out appropriate site forms, site/artifact photography, navigating survey transects with Garmin GPS, and mapping sites using Trimble GPS.

Qualifications:
? Bachelor¡¯s Degree in archaeology, anthropology, or related field (or equivalent in CRM experience) preferred
? Accredited field school (preferred)
? At least 12 months of supervised experience in CRM pedestrian survey (preferred)
? Ability to work in hot conditions, inclement weather, and remote locations
? Ability to hike up to 10 miles a day in rugged terrain while carrying up to 40 lbs. of gear and water (required)
? Proficiency with basic Garmin GPS devices and familiarity with Trimble GPS (using Terrasync) is preferred
? Skill using digital tablets for site recordation (preferred)
? Experience identifying and documenting regional ceramic typologies of Utah, New Mexico, and north and central Arizona (preferred)
