MAJOR DUTIES OF THE POSITION: Provides support in inventory and
management
of
the cultural resources on the unit. Plans and prioritizes inventory
schedule
of project-related survey areas. Performs on-the-ground area searches
for
surface and subsurface evidence of historic and prehistoric
archeological
remains. Identifies and records cultural resource sites and prepares
site
location maps. Researches reference materials and interviews source
individuals concerning project areas. Compiles and prepares input for
cultural resources management reports. Insures that work assignments
are
carried out in a safe, timely manner, and reviews work in progress to
ensure
that standards are being met.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must meet qualification requirements
specified
in
the Office of Personnel Management's Qualification Standards Operating
Manual
for the GS-0102 series:
GS-05: One year specialized experience equivalent to at least the
GS-04
grade
level in the federal service which equipped the applicant with the
particular
knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of
the
position and that is typically in or related to the work of the
position
to
be
filled;
OR, successful completion of a full four-year course of study above
high
school leading to a bachelor's degree.
GS-06: One year specialized experience equivalent to at least the
GS-05
grade
level in the federal service.
GS-07: One year specialized experience equivalent to at least the
GS-06
grade
level in the federal service.

Education may be substituted for experience as specified in the
Qualifications
Standards which may be seen in any Federal government personnel office.
