Statistical Research, Inc. (SRI) is seeking a sharp, passionate, and driven
Architectural Historian
to join our dynamic cultural resources team. If you thrive on fieldwork, live to interpret the built environment, and have a deep understanding of the architectural and historical fabric of the American West, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do:

Lead and conduct architectural surveys, historic resource evaluations, and impact assessments in compliance with federal and state regulations (NHPA, NEPA, CEQA, etc.)

Participate in regular fieldwork; prior experience conducting fieldwork is required

Research and document structures ranging from frontier-era homesteads to mid-century modern icons

Author high-quality technical reports, historical contexts, National Register nominations, and eligibility assessments and forms

Collaborate across disciplines with archaeologists, historians, and planners to deliver award-winning cultural resource solutions

Represent SRI at public meetings, client presentations, and agency consultations

What We're Looking For:
-
M.A. or Ph.D.
in Historic Preservation, Architectural History, History, or a closely related field
-
Meets or exceeds Secretary of the Interior¡¯s Professional Qualification Standards
for Architectural History
-
Minimum 3-5 years of experience
in cultural resource management, with significant work in
Western U.S. contexts
(e.g., Alaska, California, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington, etc.)

Strong knowledge of regional vernacular styles, urban and rural development patterns, and transportation-related infrastructure
-
Proficiency in architectural survey techniques, archival research, and historic resource documentation (HABS/HAER/HALS experience a plus)

Familiarity with Section 106/110, CEQA/NEPA
compliance procedures

A knack for balancing fieldwork with deadlines ¡ª and doing both exceptionally well. Fieldwork experience is required.
