Logan Simpson has an immediate opening for a regular part-time or full-time Archaeologist to work out of our Fort Collins, Colorado office.

?

Responsibilities Include:

?

Working as a crew member on archaeological cultural resources surveys throughout Colorado and adjacent states, while assisting with? project mobilization including background research and preparation of documents including site forms and technical reports.

?

Position Requires:

  • 1-2 years of cultural resources management (CRM) experience and possess a good understanding and ability to identify archaeological features and artifacts during cultural resources survey, monitoring, and excavation fieldwork.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or closely related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in our office (as needed) based in Fort Collins.
  • Successful completion of an accredited archaeological field school.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and in remote locations (camping is a possibility).
  • Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day over steep terrain for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to work field sessions up to 8 days in a row.
  • The ability to work out-of-town.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with crew members and supervisors.
  • Ability to demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with GIS software (ESRI products [ex. ArcGIS PRO, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps]) and map production.
  • Experience with digital data collection systems and iOS-based software.
  • Previous experience preparing archaeological site forms and technical reports.
  • Ability to conduct records searches and other background research online and at agency offices.

Compensation:

If hired for a full-time position, you will be paid on a salaried basis between?$45,760 to $54,080?annually, depending on experience and education. If hired for a regular part-time position, you will be paid on an hourly basis between $22 and $26 per hour.
