POSITION SUMMARY

Mesa Field Services is a small established firm that conducts archaeological inventory projects across the western United States.? We are seeking two Archaeological Field Technicians for temporary full-time work for a large block inventory project southeast of Albuquerque, New Mexico.? Fieldwork is expected to last two months.? We will be conducting 8-day field sessions with a ten-hour work day.? Drive time to and from location is included in hourly rate. Hotel and $ 50 a day per diem included in addition to hourly wage of $27 to $30, based on experience.? A field school and or 12 months of field experience is required.? Must have experience working with and a familiarity with prehistoric and historic artifacts of the Southwest.

Employment Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology and one (1) year of experience in archaeology survey, and/or reporting in New Mexico or adjoining states.??

Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, tablets, total station, etc.) and GIS applications

Will be required to walk long distances, and perform physically demanding tasks in varying environments and conditions (i.e. steep terrain, heat, cold)
