Position Overview:

E2 Project Management LLC (E2PM), a multi-discipline Small Business Enterprise (SBE) with offices in Rockaway and Manasquan, NJ, provides innovative engineering, environmental, and project management solutions across NJ, NY, and PA. E2PM is seeking a Mid-Level Archaeologist to support the firms growing Cultural Resource Department. In this role, you will assist in managing cultural resource projects, contribute to fieldwork, and help prepare technical reports. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·???????? Assist in managing cultural resource projects, ensuring compliance with CEQA, NEPA, and Section 106 of the NHPA.

·???????? Conduct architectural resource surveys, including background research, field documentation, and NRHP eligibility assessments.

·???????? Prepare technical reports (excavation reports, HABS/HAER documentation, NRHP nominations).

·???????? Support historic preservation planning and mitigation measures, following the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards.

·???????? Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.

·???????? Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate cultural resource management into broader infrastructure projects.

·???????? Assist with business development efforts, including proposal writing and client outreach.

·???????? Direct archaeological field operations, including surveys, excavation, and construction monitoring.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

·???????? BA/BS in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field required. MS/MA preferred.

·???????? 3-5 years of professional experience in archaeological and historic preservation projects, including fieldwork, report preparation, and regulatory compliance.

·???????? Experience with Section 106 of the NHPA, NEPA, CEQA, and state historic preservation laws. Familiarity with Tribal consultations and E-106 filings is a plus.

·???????? Strong experience conducting architectural resource surveys, including background research, field documentation, and NRHP eligibility assessments.

·???????? Proficiency in preparing technical reports such as excavation and monitoring reports, HABS/HAER documentation, and National Register nominations.

·???????? Familiarity with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties and the ability to apply these standards in project work.

·???????? Hands-on experience in field operations, including archaeological surveys, excavation, testing, construction monitoring, and data management.

·???????? Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, MS Word) and familiarity with handheld data collection devices and electronic field data programs.

·???????? Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and accurate reports and communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.

·???????? Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams, collaborating with engineers, environmental scientists, and planners to integrate cultural resource management into infrastructure projects.

·???????? Experience managing tasks within larger projects, including meeting deadlines, staying within budget, and ensuring project quality.

·???????? Ability to travel to project sites as needed, including overnight stays for fieldwork in varied conditions.

·???????? Must possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle for fieldwork.
