A Way Through the Desert
Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV?)
¡°Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.¡±
In the Bible, the desert is a place where God gets people¡¯s attention. Yes, it¡¯s a place of isolation, danger, and minimal resources. But it¡¯s also a place where God¡¯s people experience His deliverance, provision, revelation, renewal, and preparation for a new season. Sometimes there are desert seasons of our lives, too. In fact, He might have led us there to see Him more clearly. If you feel like you¡¯re walking through a desert and cannot see relief ahead, I want you to know the Spirit of God is with you. Let¡¯s ¡°not dwell on the past,¡± but watch for the ¡°new thing¡± He wants to do in our lives. ¡°Can you see it?¡± He asks. ¡°I am making a way!¡±
THINK ABOUT IT
Do not be afraid of dry desert places. It is there that God prepares us and changes us so He can use us for His glory. It is a pivotal place to listen closely for His voice.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of Your presence and provision for me. Thank You for watching over my life, even when I am not able to see You at work. Give me faith to wait for You as You prepare me for a new thing. I always want to be in the center of Your plans and purposes for me. In Jesus¡¯ name, amen.
?Blessings,
