F1 Male Available For Adoption in Warrenton,VA
F1 Male Available For Adoption in Warrenton, VA Thor is a 14 year old, F1, neutered and declawed male.. He was bred by Mindy Gaver who was contacted and chose not to take responsibility for him. Thor is being surrendered for inappropriate litter box habits. He has not had this problem for most of his life but it has been ongoing for about the last 3 years. His current owner has so far been unable to resolve the problem. From the information given we do know that there is distention between him and one of the other resident cats. We have also been informed that he has not had a urinalysis to rule out a medical cause. We are looking for a forever home for him that is knowledgeable about this type of problem and is both willing and able to work with him to resolve this issue. Thor is said to enjoy being interactive and playful with his humans. He has had life long experience with children over 5 years old and may be considered for a home with cat experienced children on a case by case basis. With the exception of the one other cat, Thor has been able to peacefully coexist with other cats throughout his life. He does not like dogs. Homes with no dogs and easy going “cat friendly” cats can be considered. He may also be adopted as an only pet. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY Thor is an F1 Savannah Cat. Early generation Savannah Cats (especially F1) have distinctive communication sounds that they use, such as, chirps, hisses and growls along with the standard meows and purrs. You must be well versed in reading cat body language if you wish to apply to adopt him. He has been in his current home for 12 years now. Even though he has been well socialized, this will NOT be an easy transition for him. He will need a lot of time, understanding and most of all patience from his new family. If you wish to apply to adopt Thor please email us at info@... . His adoption fee is $200. We are not currently considering shipping, homes within driving distance only, please. Your email MUST include Information about your home and family including other pets and their personalities. Please explain your expectations of behavior from him, your understanding of the F1 generation of Savannah Cat and what you believe that will mean for him and his ability to adapt to a new home. We would also like to see a general plan of action for addressing his litter box avoidance issue. Homes that do not provide this information will not be considered. AVAILABLE - 9 YO FEMALE - SPAYED - VIRGINIA - PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST
Zari is a nine year old F1 savannah female, who is a former breeding cat from Duma Exotics...she is currently being fostered by one of our own breeding community members, but it is time for Zari to find her forever home! Zari is a big girl and can be a bit intimidating. She may always be a cat who is beautiful and awe-inspiring, but not a loving, cuddling type pet. An outdoor enclosure would be perfect for her. Zari is spayed and UTD on all vaccines...her vet care is current. She will need a lot of time and patience as it appears she was never well-socialized. She can be very hissy, but many F1's use hissing as a means of communication... Zari loves to play and she LOVES to eat - that will be the way to her heart...BUT...she needs PATIENCE...it will take a long time for her to trust someone. Her forever home should have NO children or pets and plenty of space for her to have some room for her own. Her forever owner should have experience with Earlky generation Savannahs - Zari can be difficult and needs someone who understands them. Her adoption fee is $150! PLEASE do not inquire about Zari unless you tell us where you are located, what your experience is with Early Generation Savannahs and a description of your home and situation. NO SHIPPING Photos are attached. Contact us at info@...

EMERGENCY FOSTER NEEDED, EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA
We are in need of an emergency foster or foster with intent to adopt for a bonded pair. Mama and Isabella need a foster with an extra room and the ability to take them to the vet for their yearly vaccines and a basic check up. Savannah cat Rescue will cover the cost of this visit. They are reportedly easygoing girls, easy to handle and friendly to people. The previous owner did report spats between the girls and other resident cats. We don't know if this was due to improper introductions, the living situation or if they are not adaptable to other cats. They will need a decent (2 week minimum) quarantine period and vaccinations before this option can be futher explored. Transport can meet a foster home as early as tomorrow afternoon anywhere between Daytona Beach and Stuart FL on the east half the state If you are able to help us help these girls please email us at info@... Please include information about your home, family and whether you wish to foster or foster with the intent of adoption.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: F2 MALE, NORTHERN VIRGINIA
Tiger is a 9 year old neutered, F2 male that was returned to Savannah Cat Rescue from the home that adopted him from us 6 years ago. He is said to be an incredibly sweet and timid boy that enjoys being with his people. Tiger is being surrendered for a behavioral marking issue (urine marking). He was surrendered the 1st time 6 years ago for the same issue. He has been medically cleared both times. Tiger has been with an experienced foster for a few months now so that we could pinpoint his triggers and find him the perfect home for him. Tiger needs a home that has no soft fabrics or carpeting available to him. He can’t seem to help himself around these things and will mark them with urine if given the opportunity. He will do best in a home that can easily restrict his access to things like blankets, beds, throw rugs and pillows. As you will notice, in addition to lots of love and attention he also needs a home that has the time to spend keeping him actively exercising so that he can shed a few of the middle age pounds he’s currently carrying around. Tiger will likely be okay in a home that has a small number of other docile animals (after a proper adjustment period and slow introductions, of course) he could also be an only pet in a household where someone is home with him most of the time. Children of an age that know to put away soft items and laundry can be considered as well. We prefer homes that can drive to pick up Tiger from his foster in Northern Virginia but will explore the option of shipping for the right home for him. His adoption fee is $200 payable via PayPal. If you have the perfect home with a vinyl/ leather couch in a room with tile floors that you would like to cuddle this love bug of an F2 boy on for the rest of his life, please email us at info@... with a description of the home and family that you are offering Tiger. AVAILABLE – 5 YEAR OLD BONDED PAIR OF F6 SAVANNAHS – LOS LUNAS, NM (JUST OUTSIDE OF ALBUQUERQUE)
AVAILABLE – 5 YEAR OLD BONDED PAIR OF F6 SAVANNAHS – LOS LUNAS, NM (JUST OUTSIDE OF ALBUQUERQUE) Archer and Amarie are littermates and are bonded so will only be placed as a pair. They DO have the usual brother sister disagreements from time to time, but Archer would be very upset if he didn’t have his sister around. They are in need of a new home due to a life change their owner is having to deal with and is not able to take them with her. ARCHER is a neutered male, and is dominant so can only live happily with other cats that are NOT dominant. He will squabble with most other male cats and may spray to show his displeasure. He has good litter box habits as long as he is the dominant cat in the house. Archer is very sweet and lovable, but like many cats does not enjoy being carried around. He is strictly an inside cat but is reported to be a good mouser and lizard catcher for the unfortunate ones that slip into the house. He likes to jump up high so would do well with many vertical spaces to relax on. He likes play time with laser toys and feather wandsbut may play a bit rough. He will chase toys but does not like to fetch them for you so you may get an excellent workout if you decide to make yourself a new attendant for this pair of cuties! AMARIE is a spayed female that is very sweet and lovable, although like a typical woman she likes her alone time on occasion. She is submissive to other cats and lets her brother boss her around. She will get along fine with other submissive cats. She also likes high places so tall cat trees, or shelves dedicated to the cats would be ideal. She is a gentle player and likes the laser toy but LOVES the feather wand!!! She must have a feather fetish because she also LOVES to watch the birds outside very intently and will also hunt lizards and insects that get in. She will let you carry her short distances but isn’t too fond of it. She will sometimes like to have a conversation, but isn’t too overly loud. These two have lived with dogs and are pretty much indifferent to them, they may sleep near them and Amarie might let them groom her. They have not been around young children and have only been around older children infrequently, but they did let the children pet them. They are not up to date on vaccines, but their current owner is working on getting that taken care of. If it has not been done by the time they find their new digs, SV Rescue will cover that cost. If you feel you are the purrfect home for this bonded brother and sister pair, please email us at info@... – please put ”Archer and Amarie” in the subject line so the correct team member is flagged and make sure to include an in-depth description of your home and ALL occupants both two and four legged!!!!! ADOPTION FEE - $300 FOR THE PAIR SHIPPING IS NOT AVAILABLE SO PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR THIS!! HOWEVER THE CURRENT OWNER CAN DRIVE SEVERAL HOURS TO MEET THEIR NEW FAMILY PART WAY IF NEED BE

Mama and Isabelle are seeking new home ! Located in Jacksonville Florida
Mom and Daughter pair of savannahs seek a new bed to cuddle in. They are located in Jacksonville Florida. The daughter is a half bengal half savannah called "ISABELLE" and she is about 6 years old, and the mom is an 8 year old F2 savannah cat named "MAMA" ! They are seeking a new home due to a relationship ending and would be perfect in a home with some patience and understanding. Since the "split" Mama has urinated inappropriately twice. She has also had some loose stools next to the litter box. It is possible a new diet and a stable home will help her out. The current person caring for them has been doing the best she can but can only afford inexpensive cat chow for them. They are currently staying in a home with 5 other cats and Mama cat does not want to play with the other cats and will fight with them if pressured. Isabella is fine with them. Isabella is the cat social butterfly. Mama loves people. She will follow you around and loves to cuddle and get under the covers in bed. She will play fetch and loves to chase toys and interact with you. They both love to play. Mama can open cabinets and open lever doors. She is very smart !! These girls are obviously bonded to each other and cannot be separated. Their adoption fee will be $300 for the pair to keep them together. They seem to be healthy although they are overdue for vaccines and vet checkups. It has been hard to get good pictures but hopefully there is someone out there willing to take on these two beauties that doesn't have other cats or maybe one mellow easy going male in their home. They have not been exposed to dogs or young children so if you have that in your home please write and tell us more about how they would interact with two middle aged sedate girls. If you are interested in these girls please write us at info@... and put their names into the subject line. Shipping is not an option just because there is no one to get them packed up and to an airport. So they will need to be picked up by the new owner. thank you for your understanding.

AVAILABLE - 2 YO F2 MALE - ASAP Foster/Adoption - JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO
Jack is a two year old, beautiful F2 boy who is currently being fostered. The foster has several cats and Jack is afraid of them, so lives in the bathroom, which the foster does not want for him. He has had several homes and needs his forever home...seems he was brought into a home where the resident cat was not having him there and the last home prior to the foster could not care for him and gave him up. Jack has an eye issue (auto-immune) and his auto immune disease can also manifest as rawness around his mouth with ulcers in his mouth, but is well-controlled by medication. He is very shy and a bit aloof and acts as though he was abused...but he is very sweet. It took the foster over three weeks to be able to pet Jack, but she is now able to do that. She spent every day talking and singing to him, so any home interested in Jack, will have to be prepared to spend a lot of time crooning to him :-) Jack LOVES turkey necks as a treat and will come with some, provided by the foster. Jack is neutered and uses his litterbox faithfully! Children over 5 should be ok. Jack needs a loving, patient home with perhaps a dog or one cat...please do not ask for more than that - we will not answer any emails that do not respect our requests. He cannot be shipped. Savannah Experience is very important as Jack is a large F2 that has been abused and needs someone who can treat him appropriately. He has medical records and medication...he will likely need medication for life, so please be prepared for that, although...diet may play a role in his auto immune disease... Adoption Fee: $200 If you can provide jack with an awesome loving, patient home, please send inquiries to info@... - be sure to describe your home and situation in your email...

PLACED - F2 MALE - ARREY, NM
Thank you so much for all the great offers, we've made a decision on Sancho's home :-)
|
AVAILABLE - F2 MALE - ARREY, NM
Sancho is a large 4 year old F2 neutered male Savannah, currently located in Arrey, NM. He was bred by Majestic Savannahs who have failed to take him back, hence he has been surrendered to Savannah Rescue. Sancho's surrendering owner believes that he really needs to be an only pet. He was raised with her two cats but as he grew larger his rough play became too much for her to the point that there were injuries to her Sphynx and he has had to be separated. She rehomed him but the people failed to disclose their other cats and it did not work out and he was returned. On his return, she has found him withdrawn and not the same cat and she believes he was abused. It may simply be that being an early generation Savannah he found the changes very disturbing. A new home needs to be prepared for a long and patient introduction and bonding process. Sancho also is reported to urinate outside the litterbox when stressed and upset although he is known to use puppy pee pads at that time. He needs more than one litterbox and they need to be very clean for him to use them. Sancho is leash-trained and enjoys outings. Because Sancho is located in a more remote location in Arrey, NM, he is not available for shipping. If you are able and willing to travel to Arrey, NM and you think your home perfect for Sancho please email info@... and tell us about your household and why you would be a good fit for Sancho. His adoption fee will be our standard $200.

ADOPT OR POSSIBLE FOSTER WITH INTENT TO ADOPT- PHOENIX, AZ
Smokey is a 7 month old Savannah kitten. We believe him to be F5 or possibly lower. His owner had to move and found that she was unable to take him with her. A neighbor took him in and is only able to keep him short term. Smokey needs to be placed rather quickly; shipping will not be available for him because of this. Smokey is said to be a friendly, energetic, into everything kitten. He does seem to get along well with the current foster’s cats, dog and older child. We believe he will integrate well with other animals and cat savvy children. He does try to play rough and is a door darter. Potential homes will need to be prepared for this and have the ability to deter these behaviors. Smokey has been neutered but may still need to be vaccinated and have a microchip implanted. Depending on his current foster’s ability to get him an appointment. If this is still necessary Savannah Cat Rescue will reimburse his new home for these necessary procedures. If you are interested in becoming Smokey’s forever home and you are able to pick up in Phoenix in the very near future, send us an email to info@... Emails should include information about the home and family interested in adding this boy to their lives. Please include information about all humans and animals in the family along with a description of the living situation being offered. Available Handsome F5 Walter in Washington
Please note - no shipping, but owner will meet someone part way if necessary. Walter is a handsome F5 boy in Bow, Washington who needs a new family. His owner reports that he is friendly, playful and does well with older children. Unfortunately when his owner moved to a house with a lot of neighborhood cats around, Walter became upset and started to urinate outside the box on occasion. When a family member moved in, they were not pleased with this behavior and so it was decided that Walter needs a new home without the stress of outside cats at the windows. Walter’s new home needs to be patient with any introductions to new cats, have no young (under 5) children and preferably no dogs as he has never seen a dog. A home without outside neighborhood cats would also be a plus. His new home will also need to be patient in case he stress marks at first. If you would like to be considered for this lovely dark spotted kitty boy, please email us at info@... Thank you! Kristine KRISTINE C. ALESSIO, ESQ. 619-806-4058 kckcsasa@...

EMERGENCY FOSTER - Yannick - Female Savannah - 9-12 years old - Duarte California
Yannick was taken to a Veterinarian near Duarte, California for euthanasia because her owners did not want to take her with them...lucky for her, this kind vet did not euthanize Yannick and instead contacted SV Rescue. Right now, she is living in a cage and really needs a home, even if temporary, until we find her a permanent home. Yannick is estimated to be between 9-12 years old. She is a beautiful later gen savannah, who is sleight in stature but big in heart! She is also quite the looker with her beautiful marble coat! Yannick is said to have perfect litter box habits and is a talker...she will keep you company all day if you want someone to talk to - she is said to always answer when spoken to :-) Yannick will nip if overstimulated, so light petting is all that she needs until she is more comfortable in a home. And it could be that this is her personality - we are just not sure. She is said to be very friendly, but the vet practice would like her placed as an only pet for now or perhaps a dog may work out long term! A home with young children would not be appropriate because of her nipping and her age. Her vaccines are up-to-date, she is spayed, so all she needs now is some love and understanding... Please email info@..., if you can give Yannick a temporary or permanent home. Tell us about yourself and your home and why you would be a good roommate for Yannick! Adoption fee will be $150!

AVAILABLE - MERLIN - NONSTANDARD F3 MALE - MCLEAN, VA
Merlin is a black and white (outcrossed) F3 Savannah from Savannahcatland (no longer in operation). He came to us over a month ago and was placed into foster care to evaluate if the disclosed issues with him (inappropriate urination and hair plucking) were resolvable. It turns out that a change of environment and reduction of stress meant that Merlin no longer acted out by peeing, nor felt the need for overgrooming himself. He's done so well that he's been weaned off the Prozac he had been on for this issue. Right now, Merlin is living with four dogs and two cats, but one cat is showing signs of not appreciating him hence the foster home does not wish to pursue adoption. That cat is a former rescue and we support keeping the status quo in their household. What they have noticed though is that the issue is not with Merlin, he's not been at all aggressive but they feel his size and presence is enough to intimidate their other cat. Merlin tends to keep to himself, he loves looking out the window on the cat tree. As you can see from the pictures though, he's been known to sleep with dogs and next to humans too. He is also pictured eating with the other cat in the household quite easily. Merlin needs a home willing to play with him, they feel that the exercise and stimulation of wand toy play has helped him with his fur plucking issue. His litterbox habits have been pristine. He does great with dogs and cats that aren't dominant. The foster describes him as submissive in personality. We really want to find Merlin the right forever home this time around, so please contact info@... with a description of your household including why it would be great for Merlin. His adoption fee will be $200. Include your location and if you would require him to be shipped.

Update: AVAILABLE - F6 MALE - NEWARK, DE
UPDATE - The owner is willing to ship to the right home, the cost would of course be the adopter's expense. ---In SV-Rescue@..., <SV-Rescue-owner@...> wrote : Sinatra is a four year old neutered F6 male from the now-defunct Duma Exotics. He is available in Newark, DE. His owner reports him as a great cat, smart and loving, he has lived alone with his owner since kittenhood. There is one single issue that the owner has lost patience with and does not wish to continue to work on. Sinatra is marking one particular location in his house, most likely this is in response to viewing wandering cats outside the house. Unfortunately, most pet owners only contact us when they are beyond the point of wishing to work on an issue. {Please don't offer advice in this thread, we are looking for a new home for Sinatra not help working on his issue.} As Duma has lived alone with one person all his life, it is possible the best fit is a similar household. We do not know how he will adapt to a busier household, to other cats, dogs or children. He is a later generation Savannah so I would assume with a gradual thoughtful introduction though, he would adapt to a companion or two. If you think that you would be a great home for Sinatra, please email info@... with your location and a description of your household and how you would approach Sinatra's marking issue. At this time shipping is not available, if that changes the post will be updated. Pictures are attached to the post.
