AVAILABLE - F6 MALE - NEWARK, DE
Sinatra is a four year old neutered F6 male from the now-defunct Duma Exotics. He is available in Newark, DE. His owner reports him as a great cat, smart and loving, he has lived alone with his owner since kittenhood. There is one single issue that the owner has lost patience with and does not wish to continue to work on. Sinatra is marking one particular location in his house, most likely this is in response to viewing wandering cats outside the house. Unfortunately, most pet owners only contact us when they are beyond the point of wishing to work on an issue. {Please don't offer advice in this thread, we are looking for a new home for Sinatra not help working on his issue.} As Duma has lived alone with one person all his life, it is possible the best fit is a similar household. We do not know how he will adapt to a busier household, to other cats, dogs or children. He is a later generation Savannah so I would assume with a gradual thoughtful introduction though, he would adapt to a companion or two. If you think that you would be a great home for Sinatra, please email info@... with your location and a description of your household and how you would approach Sinatra's marking issue. At this time shipping is not available, if that changes the post will be updated. Pictures are attached to the post.

NON-STANDARD F3 MALE - WALDORF, MD
Merlin is a black and white F3 Savannah neutered male. I know that is unusual, he's the result of his mama escaping her breeder home and coming back knocked up by some neighborhood tom. He is now 4 years old and is reported to be a large cat, ~17lbs. Merlin is being surrendered for inappropriate urination (one of the most common reasons any cat of any breed is surrendered), but he is also reported to have an issue with hair plucking and is currently on medication to help with this issue. Most of the urination is near the litterbox in the house but he has been peeing on furniture as well. Sometimes it is very difficult for us (the rescue team) to know how resolvable these issues are as the owner is usually so frustrated when they surrender the cat that they are not open to considering the motives for the cat's behavior or whether it is indeed resolvable. I do think that there are things to try with Merlin's peeing (including Cat Attract litter, and quality enzyme cleaners), and stress seems to be a big factor in his hair plucking behavior. The owner reports that they have tried diet change and they did extensive testing (no records available) to determine that it was not allergies. Merlin is reported to not have ever been good with the owner's child who is now 5 years old, hence we would only consider homes with older children. He does get along okay with the other Savannah and the dog in the home but the owner feels he'd be just as happy as an only cat. I get the feeling that Merlin might do better with someone with the time to really pay him attention and learn what he is needing in life. Shipping is actually available (at your expense) which is unusual in our rescues. If you are interested in offering Merlin a home, please email us at info@... with your location, and a description of your household and why you would be a good choice for him.

Queen of the Savannah: Elsa is seeking a new home. Currently in Modesto California (F3 Female)
"Elsa" is the queen of the savannah in the Lion King Movie and is also a queenly smart looking F3 savannah cat located in Modesto California. Elsa is spayed and incredibly pretty ! Being an F3 she could be considered a little more of a tomboy than some lower generation savannahs. She likes to headbutt and she can play rough with other cats and with young children. A home with children over 7 is fine as long as they are willing to play without using their hands as toys. Fishing rod type of toys would be perfect for Elsa and her new family! Elsa is intelligent and will thrive with someone who will train her new tricks using treats. She already knows how to fetch and retrieve toys. She is lovable with her people and given time will warm up in a new situation. We can help you with integration guidelines if you are the lucky person who adopts her. She would live ok with another cat if it is not a dominant personality and willing to bend to her queenliness. But they may never be BFFs . If you have a throne ready for Elsa please write us at info@... with her name in the subject line and tell us all about your castle. Her adoption fee is 30 pieces of gold.. or $200 US payable to info@... (3rd pic is the type of toy she would like)

F5 Melanistic ( Sleek Black) Savannah boy in Modesto California
Looking for a black panther to slink across your hearth this fall ? This elegant beauty is looking for a new home. His name is Dino and he is probably named after that smooth singer Dean Martin ! Being ultra cool, Dino Likes other COOL CATS and children that are past the young noisy "runaround" age. He is an affectionate loving dude that is looking for new digs that suit him. NO dogs please. ahem. When no one is watching, Dino will let loose and chase bugs and pounce on things that make noise such as paper bags and noisy toys. If he feels you are not living up to his expectations he will be vocal and let you know ! At 3.5 years old Dino has lots of time left to SHINE in your life and your home. He is Ultra clean about using the litterbox and would expect the same from his new owner. His Adoption fee is $200 US payable to info@.... Dino has no way to get to an airport to be shipped to you. His licence was revoked when he was speeding once in a convertible with questionable cat friends and therefore will rely on you to come and get him. Dino is an F5 Male Neutered ( sssshhh) Savannah cat that is currently in Modesto California. Please email Teresa at info@svrescue,com if you think you can live up to the expectations of this glorious boy !

STILL AVAILABLE - ESTIMATED F3/4 - SPARKS, NV
Rico is a young (estimated between 1 and 2 years of age) Savannah male, from his appearance we think he is F3 or F4. You can read a bit of his backstory below but I have a couple corrections to make. Rico is currently living with two children (6 & 10 years old) and the foster feels that he is great with them. We still don't know about dogs, but he's a confident enough kitty that with appropriate introductions he probably would be ok. Additionally, we have been told that Rico's issue is with only one of the two cats in the house. The Bengal male is an assertive personality and it is he and Rico that cannot get along. We don't know if this is due to Rico's recent neutering (as intact males tend to be competitive with other male cats) or if this is a natural reaction of a cat that has had to survive outside and views other cats as competition for resources. The other cat in the home, a domestic shorthair does not bother Rico and in turn Rico is fine with him. So another cat in the home that is not assertive or dominant could potentially work, but we do think in that case a home has to be prepared to spend months integrating rather than expecting it to be fine within a couple weeks. Rico is in Sparks, NV and the foster is willing to drive a little to meet a new home and I think likely would deliver to Reno airport if someone wished to fly in for Rico. Please email info@... if you are interested in offering Rico a home, please give us your location and a description of your home to help this process! Thanks! Brigitte ---In SV-Rescue@..., wrote : Rico is a brown spotted neutered male available in Sparks, NV. Rico was a stray handed into the shelter at Marin Humane Society a few weeks back. They tested, vaccinated and most importantly neutered Rico... we have no background on Rico. The foster home has tried hard with Rico but although he is super-friendly to the humans and they love him dearly, a month of introductions have lead them to decide that he will not integrate with their existing two cats. It is not uncommon for a cat that has had to survive outside to view other cats as the enemy and feel aggressive and competitive towards them. Thus we feel that Rico needs to be either an only cat or with an experienced home with the space to keep Rico separate for months not weeks to work on integrating into their home. We still do not know if Rico would be okay with dogs or children, but feel that his friendliness to the humans in his foster home probably make him suitable for children. The foster home has agreed to be available to drive a little way towards meeting a new home, and most likely if someone wished to fly into Reno, NV they could meet you at the airport to carry Rico back in cabin. If you feel that Rico is the cat for you, please email us at info@... with your location, and a description of your household and why it would be a good choice for Rico. AVAILABLE - F3/4 MALE - NOVATO, CA

Rico is a handsome young Savannah male recently brought into Marine Humane Society by concerned neighbors who noticed that he was seemingly homeless. Rico has no microchip and does not seem to have anyone looking for him. He is currently being FIV/FeLV tested, neutered and vaccinated and will be available for release to Savannah Rescue only, please do not contact MHS about him. We do not have any background information on Rico, we don't know if he is good with children, dogs or other cats. As he seems to be a young cat he is likely still quite adaptable, and once his hormones have dissipated after his neuter we anticipate him being easy to integrate into a household. He is however a young Savannah male hence he is likely energetic and interactive and would not be suitable with older cats that may not appreciate his ebullience. He is reported to be quite handeable and sweet with people, even in the stressful shelter environment. As Rico is in a shelter situation, there is no ability to get him to an airport for shipping, hence he is available only to local homes that can drive to pick him up in a timely manner.Because there is still the possibility that his owner might be located, we will require a home to foster only initially, with the ability to adopt Rico if the owner is not found. His adoption fee would be the standard $200 at that time. Please email info@... if you would like to offer Rico a home. Include your location, your ability to pick him up, and a description of your household and why it would be a good fit for Rico. Thanks, Brigitte

AVAILABLE - F3 MALE - TIBURON, CA
Bodhi is a 10 year old F3 neutered male, located in Tiburon, CA. He is reported to be very social and friendly but prone to overstimulation. He is being surrendered because his living conditions simply are not meeting his needs. He needs more space and he needs more company. Previously he had lived with an Abyssinian happily although being a larger cat (~16lbs of lean muscled cat) he could at times play too rough with the older cat. For this reason we would prefer that Bodhi go to a home with either a very patient stoic cat or with a similarly high energy cat that would be up to his level of play. Bodhi has been known to bite his owner, she and her vet have determined that it was related to territorial issues as the space is very small and Bodhi seems frustrated if his perceived space is invaded. It may also be a buildup of energy with the lack of space to run and lack of companion kitty to expend his play energy on, but for this tendency to nip and bite Bodhi cannot go to a home with small children (less than 10 years old). Bodhi has not lived with dogs, and has appeared scared of them when he has seen one in the past. It is possible with the right introductions, a calmer large type dog might be fine but smaller dogs would likely not fit well. Bodhi is in excellent health with regular vet visits, up to date on vaccinations, teeth cleaned and comes with health insurance that can be transferred to a new owner. He can also come with a collection of toys, beds, cat tree, food and litter. His adoption fee is $250 and he is not available for shipping. The owner wishes a local home. If you feel your home would be great for Bodhi, please email info@... with your location, and a description of your household and how it would fit Bodhi's needs.

Urgent Need New Cumberland PA
Lou Lou is a 3 year old F5 spayed female in New Cumberland PA. Lou Lou does not get along with any other cats. She is currently moving out of her third home in her short life because of this issue. She recently had an episode of redirected aggression when she spied a neighborhood cat on the porch of her home. Because she could not get at the other cat, she attacked her owners who were trying to calm her. One of them required medical treatment after the attack. The owners no longer trust her to be around their small children and want her moved quickly. We are looking for a quiet home with no other cats and limited views of other animals outdoors. No small children in the home and experience with redirected aggression is a plus. We have no information about her interactions with dogs. For this reason we will consider households with dogs on a case by case basis. Due to how quickly she needs to be moved we are offering her as foster with intent to adopt. Her adoption fee will be $200 when she is adopted. No shipping is being offered at this time because it will not be able to be arranged quickly enough. If your home sounds like a good fit for Lou Lou and you are able to pick her up in the next few days, please email us at info@... With information on your home and family and why it's right for Lou Lou.

ADOPT/FOSTER TO ADOPT: SPECIAL NEEDS - LUNA - SHILLINGTON, PA
Nala is a loving and friendly Savannah female, a delight to her current foster home who discovered her in a local shelter that is not hybrid friendly. Some questioning confirmed that this girl is from AAASavannahs (Paul Beeson), a defunct cattery. She is currently located in Shillington, PA. Unfortunately, veterinary examination of Nala detected a heart murmur, and a consultation with a veterinary cardiologist has diagnosed Nala with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM), the most common of feline heart diseases. Medication has stabilized her condition, she is easy to medicated, but we cannot know how much this will affect Nala's life expectancy. A new home should do some research into this disease to know what this entails. Nala loves people but is not too interested in other cats. She would do great as an only cat, but should really only live with one or two other cats that are not too interactive as she doesn't wish to be close friends with other cats. We do not know how she is with dogs or children but her friendliness to adults probably means she would be a good fit with at least children older than toddlers. Nala is not available for shipping, the foster home would prefer that she not have to travel too many hours from their home as they worry about the stress of the journey with her heart condition. If you feel that you could offer Nala a great home, please email info@... with your location and a description of your household and how it would suit Nala.

They feel that they have tried all they can (they did have him checked out by the vet) and that he needs a new home. Hence we cannot pinpoint the source of Skippy's behavior. In terms of a new home, given that Skippy lived fine for years with a dog and cat, we feel a home with other pets would be fine with the appropriate slow and thoughtful introduction. AVAILABLE - F5 SNOW FEMALE - LOUISVILLE, KY
Isabella is a 4 year old spayed snow Savannah female from F1Hybrids, who will not be taking her back. Isabella is up to date on her FVRCP vaccine but not Rabies. Her owner contacted us last year to surrender a pair of Savannahs, because the male Savannah was spraying in response to moving into a home with another cat. It seems that she did rehome the male by himself though, and now wishes to surrender Isabella. Although the situation improved, the two female cats do not get along and one of the cats is still marking in the basement occasionally. We have no feedback on what has been tried to resolve the issue unfortunately. Isabella is reported to be social and like to be around people but not be picked up. She is said to love water, and brushing teeth with her human, and gets along well with dogs. She has not been around children so we would not recommend with young children, but older children that know appropriate play with a cat should be fine. We feel that she was happy living with one other cat (the Savannah male) so with appropriate introductions she should be able to live with one other cat, preferably a neutered male. If there is another cat then the personality of that cat will be important to the possible outcome. This is one of our rare cases where shipping will be available to the right home, although of course preference to a local home will be made. The owner feels that she would be prepared to arrange shipping (at the adopter's expense) if that would find her the right home. Generation: F5 Age: 4 Years Sex: Spayed Location: Louisville, KY Shipping: Available. It will be an additional charge, we estimate an additional $300 (not a firm quote).
