Tobi needs adoptive or foster home
I recently posted Tobi, F6 spayed 3year old female, as available. We understand that she is not an easy placement as we have been unable to resolve her spraying issue. We feel that the next step is that Tobi needs to be housed by herself, not necessarily in a house but in her own room. Unfortunately, Tobi's current foster home is not able to do this and Tobi has had to share her quarters. Although her spraying has been infrequent, it has not stopped and we feel that she may need to be an only pet. We would love it if someone would volunteer to foster Tobi that could keep her in a separate room. If you might be interested in this, please contact me or Kristine at brigitte@... or gattobello@... to learn more. Thank you! Available F2 Savannah female, 6 years old
Meet Missy, she is a 6 year old F2A spayed female, up to date on vaccines, healthy and playful. Missy was bred by Abiku cattery, which is no longer in business. We do have the pedigree information though. Missy lived for years as an only cat, adored by her parents. Then they had a child and decided that Missy could not be trusted with the baby and kept her separated in the house. Missy was very upset at this change in circumstance and developed some unattractive traits of slapping and nipping to get attention. And so now she is in foster care :-( Missy needs to be in a house without small children, she does show signs of overstimulation and so when she may slap or nip, but this is not something a small child would recognize early signs of. She is very playful and this has been the way the foster home has made friends with her. She loves to leap after a wand toy and she fetches! Missy did not take to a new environment very well, she was extremely hissy and growly for some time and the foster parent had to be very patient to make friends. Of course for a cat that had only one home for six years this is not too surprising. She has been in foster care for two months now and has come a long way. She's partly clicker trained for example, she allows petting and even being picked up for short periods. She will sleep in bed with them, pounce on toes under the covers. Having spent all her life as an only cat we feel that this would be the best home for Missy, but would consider a home with another cat if the home would be patient in introductions. We would not consider a home suitable that had a number of other pets, as this would be too difficult for Missy to handle. We are asking an adoption fee of $250 for Missy. Please contact me or Kristine (rescue@... or gattobello@... ) if you are interested in offering Missy a new home! Ooops! Forgot to mention that Missy is currently located in New Jersey!
I apologize for not previously mentioning Missy's current location, she is being fostered in New Jersey. We would consider shipping for the right home, but of course do give preference to homes that could pick her up in person. Courtesy post - Bengal Rescue Network has a Savannah for adoption
Hi, this cat is not in Savannah Rescue's care therefore we cannot guarantee anything at all about him. Sal and Doris Vitale of Bengal Rescue Network took in a cat from a shelter that originally was identified as a Bengal. They decided that his legs were too long and ears too large and most likely was a Savannah. They estimate him to be an F2, he is neutered and front declawed. We (Kristine and I) have not seen enough pictures to offer an opinion on Achmed, he's in Maryland and we are in California so haven't seen him in person either! But we know that the Vitales have seen enough Bengals to know when a cat isn't one :-) Anyway, the information is below. They want a home with hybrid experience, preferably early generation hybrid experience. Please contact Sal and Doris Vitale directly if interested. bengalcatrescue@... -------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Folks, We need a home for a F2 Savannah. Apprx 1-2 years, neutered male, up to date on vaccines, and felv/fiv neg Achmed is front declawed Likes women more than men (ask Sal) Doesn't like other cats. Achmed will chase other cats. Maybe one other cat will be alright as long as the house is large enough Achmed will also chase dogs, so having a dog isn't an issue as long as it isn't afraid of cats Young children are not recommended as Achmed can be unpredictable. Any changes in the environment can upset him. Achmed isn't a run and hide cat. He does voice his concerns very loudly. Ne doesn't meow like a normal cat. If you are not used to early generation cats. his talking could be unsettling. If you think that you can give Achmed a great home please send us an email. I would like to place him near the MD area if possible Sal and Doris Vitale Anateag Bengals www.geocities.com/anateagbengal President & VP, Mid-Atlantic Coordinators, Bengal Rescue Network (501c3) www.bengalrescuenetwork.org List Owner, Bengal Cat Rescue http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bengalcatrescue/ <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bengalcatrescue/> Bengal Rescue Network @ Petfinders http://bengalrescue.petfinder.org <http://bengalrescue.petfinder.org/> --------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Brigitte Cowell Kirembo Savannahs www.kirembosavannahs.com brigitte@... F4C retired male available
Hi, Norton is an F4 male that has not proven to be fertile and so is being retired from a breeding program. He's still young (just under 2 years old) and available for cost of shipping and neuter. He's a nice big boy but he is rather shy so requires a home that is willing to be patient and loving to bring him around. Please contact Cynthia at TheKasbah@... if interested in offering Norton a home. Thanks, Brigitte -- Brigitte Cowell Kirembo Savannahs www.kirembosavannahs.com brigitte@... Update on Norton the F4C male...
Hi, I am so sorry, unfortunately Cynthia King (current owner of Norton) is without computer access for the next couple of days. She just called me and thanked you all for the responses about her Savannah male and promises to reply to all of you when she gets home to her computer and is not struggling to read all those emails on her phone. Please do not worry if you do not receive an immediate reply to your email to her about Norton, she is not ignoring anyone and she is delighted to receive so many promising offers of a good home for Norton :-) Sincerely, Brigitte -- Brigitte Cowell Kirembo Savannahs www.kirembosavannahs.com brigitte@... Melanistic F3 neutered male available in St Louis, MO
Hi, I'm posting this cat as available but he's not officially in Rescue. Part of his adoption fee IS a donation to SV Rescue though! Seamus is a black F3 Savannah, but his spots seem very visible in pictures so he's more black on black spotted even if in TICA we consider this a "solid". Seamus is a year old, a big cat but slightly chubby, the vet says he is ok but might need a diet or more exercise. He is a very friendly and affectionate cat, loves people, good with children and loves to fetch toys. So why is he available for a new home? Seamus is a big boisterous "puppy" of a cat and he's simply too much for the two timid female kitties already in the household. He wants to play and wrestle and they are too dignified to want to have anything to do with him. It's causing a lot of trouble and so they feel he would do better in another home with either a dog or another kitty with a more dominant personality that would stand up to his rambunctiousness better. Preference is of course given to homes that could drive to St Louis, MO to pick Seamus up in person. They really do not want to ship him. His adoption fee is a little higher than most, it will be $500 of which $100 is a donation to Savannah Rescue for their help in finding him that perfect home. Please let me know (brigitte@... ) if you are interested in Seamus. Thanks, Brigitte -- Brigitte Cowell Kirembo Savannahs www.kirembosavannahs.com brigitte@... Found a foster home, thanks!
Thankfully, I know have a foster home nearby for the F3 at Oakland AC. Thank you for the calls and emails I got so quickly :-) Please, if you would be willing to be a foster home in the future, I have attached our foster form to this post. Please fill it out and email to me at brigitte@... so that I can put you in the database. This does NOT mean you have to take any cat I ask you to foster, you can tell me if it is "convenient" or not at the time...it just means that you are a possible foster home that I may contact. F4 neutered male available in Northern California
Hi, We have a loving brown spotted neutered F4 male available, he's currently being fostered in San Rafael, in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. His foster mom has named him Casanova, and he is doing his darndest to live up to that name :-) Casanova is an F4A, he's out of a Savannah mom and Egyptian Mau dad. We do know his breeder, she has been in contact and is contributing to his care but is unable to take him in at present. Casanova is three years old. Casanova was surrendered by his owner due to the serious illness of the owner and him being unable to care for his cat any longer. Sadly, Savannah Rescue only was made aware of this after he had been surrendered to Oakland Animal Control, so poor Casanova had a traumatic few days in the shelter with lots of scary situations and barking dogs. Happily we quickly found him a fabulous foster home, and within a day he had relaxed and started enjoying life again. Casanova is a large cat, weighing in at 16lbs but like most Savannahs appearing larger in person. He's very gentle, and although he hissed when first brought back from the shelter he has never struck out or behaved aggressively. He is currently living alone in an enclosure, but has been perfect with the litterbox. His wonderful foster mom has brought her cats up on leashes to his enclosure and only witnessed curiosity without any signs of aggression. We feel confident that with appropriate introductions Casanova would work with other cats. We do not know if he tolerates dogs though. This was his foster mom's last email about him: " He is at my house in San Rafael until we find a perfect home for a cat that has a toe kissing fetish. He loves to kiss your fingers, elbows, feet, and face. He will linger on my face sniffing and air kissing for five minutes. My cats wont do that. wah! Casanova is really perfect. He follows you around and wants to be touched and loved. I'm sure his Dad loved him. What we know about him is that he is three years old. He is either an F4 or F3 but looks like F2." Please contact us at info@... if you are interested in adopting Casanova. At this time we are only wanting local homes, ones that could and will drive to pick Casanova up. Right now, Savannah Rescue is extremely busy also dealing with the NM rescue situation (see our website for more details if interested) therefore if you email us and you are not within driving distance please don't be surprised if we do not find time to reply to your application. I think I caused some confusion when I modified the group name just now. I do not think any of you need to "rejoin" the list, at least on the group page we still have the same number of members and so I should not have lost any of you! Brigitte

Available Savannahs from Las Cruces, NM rescue operation
Hi, If you are wondering what this rescue operation was about, check out http://svrescue.com/LasCruces.htm for the story. I talked to Carol today and she said she has two Savannahs ready to leave, so available for adoption. Both are silver spotted Savannahs, one neutered male and one spayed female. Both are tested negative for FIV/FeLV and vaccinated and wormed. They are not a bonded pair so do not need to be placed together, just happen to be the two she feels are ready to leave now. They are still shy with people and will need homes that are willing to be patient and loving. They were definitely traumatized by all they have been through, and we don't blame them for that! They will most likely do best if the new home can keep them in their own room for potentially a month or so to give them the time to relax and come to trust their humans again. We do not believe they are unsocialized, but worried and scared by all the changes they have been through. A picture of the silver male is attached, Carol is going to try to get me a picture of the female soon. She says she is also very pretty! Also attached is our adoption application, if you'd like to be considered for one of these cats please fill it out and return to me at info@... . Carol would of course prefer a home willing to drive to fetch them and can drive a couple hours to meet someone if necessary... but shipping is also a possibility, with some planning. Savannahs in the NM rescue group
Hi, I thought I might mention that although there were a large group of cats surrendered at Las Cruces, NM...only a small proportion of them have been identified as Savannahs. Apart from the two silver spotted tabbies I posted about earlier today, there are 2 brown spotted females still being fostered and evaluated, and one pregnant silver spotted female. Apart from those there ARE a number of Bengals, Ocicats and Cheetohs also available. If you are interested in any of these then please let me know and I can forward you to the relevant person dealing with those adoptions :-) Brigitte -- Brigitte Cowell Kirembo Savannahs www.kirembosavannahs.com brigitte@... Casanova is in his new home!
Hi, Just thought I'd let all know, Casanova has gone to his great new home now...we are very grateful to the number of wonderful people that offered him a home. It's very difficult for Kristine and I to select the best situation, most the time there are a number of homes that would work for a cat and we just have to make a call on which seems to be the absolute best choice for that cat. Ocicat boy available from Las Cruces, NM rescue operation
Hi, Many of you may remember the large group of Bengals, Ocicats, Cheetohs and Savannahs that were surrendered in Las Cruces, NM...and transported in a huge operation to Arizona. Well, almost all have been adopted out. Some pregnant girls are yet to wean babies but all of them have potential homes lined up. One of the last remaining is this lovely Ocicat boy and so I've offered to post him here. The spot of his nose is a healing lesion, they don't know how the injury occurred but it is healing up well. He's neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. As you can see in the pictures he's very handsome, he's a little shy from all he's been through but with a kind loving home no doubt will come around just fine. Please contact Carol Drymon at windhavenexotics@... if interested in offering this Ocicat a home. Sincerely, Brigitte -- Brigitte Cowell Kirembo Savannahs www.kirembosavannahs.com brigitte@... Savannah male available in Southern California-Jake
Jake was found wandering a street in Hermosa Beach area of Los Angeles, California. He was not neutered at the time, flyers were posted and everything that could be done was done but no owner was found. Jake has since been neutered. He does not spray. He's also been vaccinated and FeLV and FIV tested negative. He's been wormed. Jake uses the litterbox faithfully. He prefers kibble and is not interested in raw or canned food although he does like some canned tuna. Jake is a fiend for chewing on loose-weaved fabrics...throws and the like. The new home would have to be aware of this and be prepared to work with this issue. Jake is very outgoing and likely would adapt to leash-training very well. He will get along well with equally energetic outgoing cats but would NOT be suitable for a household with elderly or shy kitties as that brings out the bully in him. He loves to play. He is cautious around dogs but is likely to adapt very easily if properly introduced. Jake is a sweet and sociable boy, he is not a lap kitty but loves to sit next to you on the couch and purr. Did I mention he loves to play? He would not be good with small children, but an older child that understands how to treat a cat and how to PLAY with a kitty would likely be a good friend. Please email info@... if you are interested in offering Jake a home. His adoption fee will be $200. We of course would prefer a local home that could pick him up in the LA area...but a perfect home that needed shipping would be considered.
