extra food update

Hello SSR Sisters!

Emily has found 5-6 volunteers to come be representatives for our Constellation work. One person can only come on Saturday and the rest will be there both Saturday and Sunday. (Sleeping elsewhere.)

Since they are volunteering their time and energy, we have offered them lunch both days.

The food restrictions we are aware of are:
  • Dairy free, vegetarian, Pea protein, Pea sprout allergy
  • Gluten free, dairy free, no soy, no night shades
Please bring larger dishes than usual for our shared meals so that there is plenty of food. Snacks to share are also welcome. It will be Emily, 5-6 volunteers, and 11 SSR women. So, a total of 17 - 18 people.

(I imagine if funds are tight for the extra food, women could ask to be reimbursed some from the materials fund.)

??????????? Saturday Lunch:

    • Marsia: entr¨¦e
    • Matooka: entree or soup
    • Kate Z: salad
    • RayRay: protein
    • Jill: salad dressing, soup
    • Paige: bread and butter for whole weekend

???????????

?????????????Sunday Lunch:

    • Noreen: entr¨¦e
    • Abigail: entree
    • Gretchen: soup and/or snacks
    • Meggie: salad, toilet paper, and firewood
    • Katie: dessert

I have already planned my soup. I have my shopping list and am bringing pre-mixed spices that include paprika (nightshade). The soup is gluten and dairy free, but includes meat and three nightshades (tomatoes, chiles, paprika), so if the two bullets Meggie sent are the list for two people, my soup would not work for either of them.?

Marsia, Matooka, is it possible that your entree or soup meets all the dietary restrictions??If your entree/soup is free of those everyone would at least have those choices.

I could also try to buy a boxed soup that meets the restrictions, to offer to those two people.

Thanks

Hmmm. I plan to make a curry/coconut/ ginger/lemongrass/cilantro¡ chicken and rice thingy. Everything is gluten free except the curry paste jar does not have a GF symbol on it but seemingly has no gluten ingredients in it. When I googled, it came up gluten free. Huh. ??
