CCT #6 8
A friend has this listed as SN, however this isn't NE or SN third-rail and no company associated with SN had a box motor #6. I'm thinking this might be CCT #6 however I'm not versed in matters of the Traction. CCT motors were leased by OA/OA&E and maybe NE/SNRR (?) so I'm at a loss on this one. Comments welcome. ~Bill Shippen

SN Wagons and 401 at Marysville
Pictures from Charles Hopkins. SW-1 in front of Marysville WP depot, and again on spot at Yuba City, and 301-D probably Stockton or Sacramento? ~Bill Shippen (Dig the boxcar)

SN 2316 8
Folks... Just viewed a scan of this boxcar and it still has the WP emblem on the door. I was under the impression that the emblems were painted over. Garth, comments? EDIT: Just wanted to mention the view is on Ebay BAERA for sale list. ~Bill

Launch Countess
Friends, The SN's motor launch Countess, was not often photographed, but Ken Jenkins lensed her in August 1940 at Mallard. The reeds suggest why she was so elusive--it probably took Jenkins a slog through some pretty swampy stuff to get this photo. Countess was the second of three launches owned by the OA&E/SF-S/SN. The earliest was Laguna, which was purchased used by the OA&E as a fill-in after the first ferry Bridgit was lost to a fire in 1914. Countess was also a used boat, bought by the SF-S in 1920. She served until 1942. The final launch was a mysterious boat named Legonia which was sold off in 1946. When not used in shuttle service during Ramon's downtime, the launches were used as workboats and were available for charter by (gulp: ?) duck hunting clubs. Yours Aye, Garth Groff Mallard Lodge ?

Vallejo & Northern Woodland station.
Here is a postcard I just picked up showing what became SNs Woodland station. V&N views, even converted ones like this are rather uncommon. I had no idea this building had V&N markings but yet here it is. This building was eventually sold and repurposed then razed and rebuilt on the original foundation where it remains today. ~Bill

OA&E 103 2
Friends, Photos of OA&E equipment are rather rare, but I do have this page from the RAILWAY AGE GAZETTE in my collection with a very clear image of freight motor 103 (after descreening). The motor was built by Baldwin in February 1912. OA&E 103 became SF-S 103 in 1920, and then SN 603 with the Great Merger in 1929 (Joseph Strapac says this was 23 January 1934, but that could be an AFE accounting date). She became SN 643 in 1953 to avoid conflict with WP's 603, an SW9. SN 643 was sold to Oakland's Lerner Co. for scrap at the end of 1955. Yours Aye, Garth Groff ?

SN N-Scale Caboose
One day maybe I will make a Perlman green Haskell caboose. This may have been made by the retired high school teacher that made the other WP caboose, but earlier in his life. I have an imperfect example already. https://www.ebay.com/itm/204234892245?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=U8w7ePW_QSG&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=-SfnQT7lQJi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=MORE

142 and 143 Updated
Folks: This is a Gildersleeve photo, supposedly in 1959. I doubt the date from looking at that Frisco boxcar. After looking at track maps and the orchard I'm going with the north end of either Speedway siding or the SP/SN interchange siding at Durham. Mr. Gildersleeve was shooting SN during the last days of Electric service in Yuba City - Marysville so this could also be circa 1965. Comments welcome. ~Bill Shippen
