Added new pictures of Yuba City Yard

Greetings SN fans,

I have uploaded some images of the SN yard from July 77 and one from Aug 82.

Nothing earth shattering, but they offer a good view of units assigned to the yard and might be beneficial to any modelers interested in the WP-SN ops.

As late as Aug 1982, both SN geeps were holding down assignments at Yuba City. This may have been the last time that they were assigned to the same area. The 712 bounced around Milpitas ans Stockton post merger. The 711 worked Portola and was sent east to Omaha to become yellow and was mechanically destroyed on its way back to Salt Lake after being repainted.

Interesting contrast between views 2 and 3 of 711, 2 has 711 in PG and 3 has 711 in NI

Dave and Randy,

All the SN power bounced around a lot in the late 1970s and early 1980 before the yellow plague descended. Attached is a view of 712 working South Sacramento on the WP. I've lost the?date for this, but I left California on New Year's day 1982, so I think this was shot around 1981 on one of my last WP/SN expeditions.?

The view of 607 at Stockton is dated March 1981, and was probably shot in February. Stockton was pretty much home to 607 in her last years, joining a clutch of SW-9s that worked the yard. South Sacramento was usually worked by GP-9s or GP-7s in the last years. At least those are what I saw and photographed, but what we shoot can be highly subjective.?

Yours Aye,

Garth Groff ??
