Just went through a turbo issue about a month ago with the same engine/same boat.? It was leaking oil out of the turbo?into the?air cleaner and dripping a fair amount of oil down on the gearbox.
Had a mechanic diagnose and recommend?rebuild or replace.? Replacement for OEM was $2.2 - 2.5K for parts only or about $1K for rebuild.? I chose to rebuild and he used Turbo Exchange in Concord, NC.? I think the rebuild?included new seals and bearings and came in around?$1K.? I had some other work done so not sure the exact labor cost to pull the old one and install rebuilt?one.? Turbo exchange rebuilt mine vice a core exchange.? No more leaks for now.
