That's most bizarre. Not heard of that one happening before.

Thanks again Darrell.? I have wireless
working now.? There was a problem in /etc/resolv.conf.
The nameserver was pointing to 127.0.0.1? I changed it to
point at my router instead and it lit right up after a
reboot.

OK, so HAMVOIP runs on ARCH LINUX? this
website will be your best resource?for a while?
Ping is just ping ==> in BASH type
ping (screenshot
below). If you selected static for your wired then your
wireless may not work, but if you selected DHCP for both
then you should be able to switch back and forth. If at
anytime you want to know how to do something in allstar?go
here and ask. Its all in there....?
?
Thanks Darrell. I used the wifi
setup function that¡¯s included on the main screen.? It
connected to the router and I was able SSH into it but
it wouldn¡¯t register with the Allstar server until I
hooked it back up to a wired connection.? I¡¯m good at
Windows and networking but this is my first foray into
Linux.? I don¡¯t think it¡¯s a port forwarding issue as
I¡¯d have the same problem on the wired connection
too.? This is what I was seeing as far as a wireless
connection (I¡¯m using a Raspberry Pi 3B+)
I don¡¯t know how to do a ping on Linux to try to
narrow the issue down as to why it will connect to the
internet, but not the Allstar server, on wireless.?

If you are using the HAMVOIP
version of allstar the wifi drivers are built in.
All you need to do is boot from the SD card and
answer all the?questions. You need a monitor,
keyboard and mouse at first. Once your in one then
you can use putty for SSH (port 222) to get the menu
to change wifi sites. Later, you can build a list of
all the wifi sites so you can connect without
needing any outside aid.
?
Thanks.? Things are starting to
make a little more sense now. I've finally got
Allstar, Echolink and the COS LED working.? My
next project is to get it working wirelessly. From
what I've been reading it will require the use of
the GET command to install the needed files.?
However I still haven't figured out how to drop
down to a prompt where the GET command works. The
problem with the clock was Shari was connected to
the internet wirelessly but Asterisk wasn't
recognizing the wireless connection.? Evidently
The wireless connection has to be done a different
way than simply setting it up through the menu.
