Where can I find instructions on how to replace belts on a SAE c102?

Thanks, Joe

If you have the old belts, you can start with measuring them. ?Broken belts after being cleaned can be glued end to end with super glue to help make the measurement. ?What you want is to measure the diameter (round) or side (square) belt and it length stretched. ?You measure the length with about a 1/4” spacing between the two belt side. ?Typically there was a tool that mad these measurements for you but I do not know where to find them today. ?I have not looked. ?Anyway with the length and diameter, you should be able to find a replacement belt.
Where can I find instructions on how to replace belts on a SAE c102? ? Thanks, Joe ?

Thanks for the reply. I have found a set of belts, my problem is how do they go in around the idlers. There seem to be two for the drive. I was hoping to find a picture of them installed.

if you still haven't gotten the info by Thursday I'll help out with pictures. I have three units - one of which is in daily use, so I'll take photos first, then take the 2nd apart to see where the belts go since i I have to replace the belts and I have the
belt kit (it's about time)
Do you also have the schematics?
?IDK about my 3rd deck:-/

Joe, if you could post a picture, or sent it to me in an email, I think I can help you out. I worked on a ton of cassette decks from that era, and it’s likely SAE used a mechanism that was also used by other manufacturers.

There are three belts, one for the slide drawer is easy the other two are sketchy.

FWIW, I have two C-101 Cassette Decks, that needed both belts and
idler tires. I found that the transports are either Matsushita
(w/Mitsubishi motors) or Mitsubishi. The one resource that might be
the easiest is Pacific Stereo, a spin-off of the defunct So. Calif.
audio retail chain that's now a parts/info resource. You can also
send your old belts, and complete idler wheels (without removing
tires) to Russel Industries to be eye/hand matched.
If you really strike out, you can take your idler wheels w/tires to
a seal/O-ring supply house for matching; however, you may have to
buy a minimum quantity of 25 or so @ 5-10 cents each. That's cheap,
if you factor in what your time is worth, not to mention shipping
and/or fuel driving around to hopefully find what you need.
