Re: SAE D102 Display Completely dead
The eject issue is the belt hardened into its normal resting position. Replacing the belt fixes it . . .

Re: SAE D102 Display Completely dead
I just grabbed another D102 on Ebay. Perfect working display. Only issue is "Sometimes it won't eject"...No biggie. It is a earlier model with no digital out....oh well. Maybe I can swap everything

Re: SAE D102 Display Completely dead
I tore the D102 apart tonight. I looked at the display module. I resoldered many joints. No work. The module covers all that isn't working, but again, as you are aware, all the functions work great.

Re: SAE D102 Display Completely dead
Again, the Repeat LED and Index LEDs don't light. I doubt they are part the said Display module. Almost like the pcb isn't getting power. Haven't torn it apart yet. David

Re: SAE D102 Display Completely dead
Thanks. I had read somewhere it is the display driver IC that fails, and according to the service manual the hex inverter driver IC is a LS7404 which can still be found. Guess I will pull the front

Joe, if you could post a picture, or sent it to me in an email, I think I can help you out. I worked on a ton of cassette decks from that era, and it¡¯s likely SAE used a mechanism that was also used

Re: Searching for Information
Thanks for the reply. I have found a set of belts, my problem is how do they go in around the idlers. There seem to be two for the drive. I was hoping to find a picture of them installed.

Re: Searching for Information
If you have the old belts, you can start with measuring them. Broken belts after being cleaned can be glued end to end with super glue to help make the measurement. What you want is to measure the
