SADRC Repeater and Node Owners Topic: Important Contingency Change Hello, As our SADRC network has grown, we have increased our contingency plans to include 2 additional servers. With the Texas Coast being connected, they need to rely on our network especially during hurricanes. Below are our backup networks. WS5DRC - 443.200 - Somerset, TX - Wires X 40324 - (Main/Primary - Texas SADRC N8IQT - 442.750 - San Antonio, TX -Wires X Room 68724 (Secondary) W5NZK - 441.8125 Live Oak, TX - Wires X Room 43404 (Third backup server) In the unlikely event all would fail, we have a server in NY on YSF US SADRC (This is not Wires X) that we can use to stay connected. We also have FCS 3 Room 46 (This is not Wires X) as an additional server to be able to communicate through Shark Hot Spots or Pi-Star devices. It is possible to connect the repeaters through the YSF network, but you would have to have a PI-Star or Shark RF at the repeater connected to the internet. Communications can still be made without the repeaters on these networks direct. The above information will be posted on our sadrc.net website. Hello, A big thanks to Don W5DK for working on our duplexers for several hours today. He was able to get our 147.160 working and we are connected back to the Texas Nexus network. This runs simultaneously with our 442.750 off of the same antenna. We move this repeater back to SADRC for our nets and other special events. 146.780 is down until we get those duplexers repaired and a new repeater site is raised. Please give this repeater a try when free. The repeater is located just East of 281 and Bulverde road in North Bexar county. View Event Description: Hello South Texas, Come out to the multi-club Winter Field Day 2025 (WFD). WFD2025 is on January 25th & 26th, 2025 at the City of Shavano Park Pavilion! Winter Field Day 2025 Goals: Be Safe, Have Fun, Stay Warm and Keep Dry! This will be a lighter event than Summer Field Day, no triband beam. We will need assistance picking up the club equipment from storage on Saturday morning. Radios, feedlines, wire antennas, tables, chairs, antenna supports, computers for logging, and the generators. Depending on the weather that weekend, the end of the event will either be on Saturday evening at 6 PM or if weather favorable, the event will end Sunday morning at 9 AM. Dress for the weather. If it is colder, bring towels or a throw to cover the metal folding chairs. I know from experience that sitting on a metal chair in the cold will pull the heat out of you very quickly. I may have asked this question before but how many of you are running DR1 or DR2 at 50 W. I know there’s been some stuff going around referencing PA is going bad because of the 50 watt Duty cycle is not 100%. Has anybody in the group experienced an issue running at 50 W? sparky
