Canvas Winter Cover?
Hi Folks,
?
The S2 27 group has been very quiet, so here's a new topic to kick off 2019.?
?
Does anyone have a canvas winter cover for your boat?? If so, did you have it custom made, and by which canvas company?? Are you happy with the performance of your cover?? I am thinking about having one made instead of paying to have the boat shrink wrapped each fall.? I assume that once the canvas company makes the cover, they keep the measurements on file.? Thanks, and happy new year.

开云体育Dave,I looked into a winter cover for my S2 27 & found it to be pretty expensive. If there were a fairly inexpensive option I would certainly consider it. Would love to hear what others have paid for one. Mine is currently partially covered with a plastic tarp. Frank s/v Carina

Thanks for the reply, Frank.?
Are you only covering the cockpit with the tarp? If so, do you "tent" the tarp with the boom?

开云体育While I have been leaving the mast up when I haul the boat in the Fall, I generally take the boom off. I tie off the tarp to the mast & run it back just past the companionway a little way into the cockpit. I can tie off the sides to the slotted toe rail. I have some bumpers I lay on the cabin-top to keep the tarp off winches & other deck fittings that would rub through it very quickly. So far, I can get a few years from each tarp so that keeps the cost pretty low. That said, if I could get a full cover made at a reasonable price (not sure exactly what that might be, though) I would definitely consider investing in one.? So, what do you do to cover your boat while its on the “hard?” Frank
