Side windows...

Whilst I'm here... ?And not to crash the Group Billing topic...?
How am I supposed to get the bottom metal plate, held on by two screws, off when it glued down? ?Pushing up on the screw thread from underneath isn't helping much.
?

If by "bottom plate" you refer to that black finisher piece affixed to the body at the base of the quarter windows it's studded, with locking nuts spun up from below in the engine bay side. At least that's how it is on my S2.

Cheers

That's the one. ?And its got sealant under it by the look of it. Don't want to distort it trying to take it off. ?Will have to get a blade under it from the front I guess.?

That's the method. Your comment reminded me that RTV had been used beneath in order to seal it off.

Yeah, probably by 3 previous owners, trying to get it to stop leaking ?

That's what I'll do then. ?Thanks.
This is a two owner car that hasn't moved since 1979/80. ?Rear left wheel looks to have hit something probably coming to a sudden holt (engine as well... ?More fun later on...) bearings shot, wheel wobbles like a womble. ?
