Jim, ? ? Nice find! Now that would be a project I could involve myself in, converting the AM Northern into an AT&SF 2-10-4, anyone ever have thoughts on this? The late Dave Felmley and I talked about this awhile ago and he sent me drawings of both engines, they are very, very close in all dimensions boiler-wise, a scale model would have compromises anyway and the differences were minor. Tenders were identical. ? ? ?Bud Rindfleisch

I do own a 4-6-6-4 Challenger but it doesn't call my roundhouse home for that reason.? When I acquired a SP 2-10-2 I checked out the clearance because we had gained a set of drivers but all of them were smaller than the big UP engine, so I lucked out.? Also, I had made one stall of my roundhouse longer to accept an extra long engine, but now two would be handy.? All the other stalls are about right for a Mike or slightly longer.? The FEF has been around for a long time w/o paint so hiding it in the long roundhouse stall will probably happen.? It's the only engine that's not for sale unpainted, so after some E unit's are painted I'll have to work on that guy.

Re: Panel & Rivet Lining Techniques
Very interesting video.? I like how the Tamiya weathering solution creeps into everything with a minimum of work.? Of course after watching that I fell into the YouTube pit and started watching Adam Savages workshop videos.? Always something to learn.??

Carpet tape and camper tape caution
Group, I recall reading an article on camper tape in Model Railroader.? They agree it is very quieting, but there is a BIG ISSUE? with camper tape.?? Should you lean on the track installed over the camper tape, the soft tape will compress allowing your track (rail) to bend down, often PERMANENTLY.

Mike?! Hi, mike. Is this a new trend...naming locomotives after the modeler's name? I'm any case it's an impressive loco...! Regards, David Moore.

Ironically... with all the discussion of roadbed and noise... I came across this product today in the HVAC warehouse I now work in... (see attached pix)
This is a 2-sided tape... made by DiversiTech for insulating gaps between metal duct and HVAC units and/or other metal duct, etc,... it appears to be about 1/16" thick (according to my eye) (even though it says 1/8")... is 2" wide... comes in a 30' roll... and is apparently made of some type of black cork (nothing like any cork I've ever seen or used, but I'll take their word for it).? I bought one roll of it today (my price was just a hair over $8. with my employee discount, but I've seen it retail for as much as $30.
I am not yet building a layout, so I can't really test it... but if anyone wants to buy my roll and test it... it's yours for $8 + $8 for shipping.? (PayPal -? GIFT method, please)

This is my cut lever kit. 1 size fits all. I have made truly 100s of them. Note the Lindstrom tools ¨C my favorite. Bending cut levers are not difficult or that time consuming once you get past the first try. It helps to have my cut lever bracket ¨C the first casting I made 20ish years ago. ? ? Earl¡¯s Carmer cut levers were first made for my X29. They are bent bars and top lift, not suitable for many cars. ? Thank You, Bill Lane
