Rock Star Crushes (possible NC)

When I saw Paul D.'s post recently about a dream he had with Sheryl Crowe and he mentioned that he had "a thing" for her I got to thinking of a thread I started on HH about a year ago on present and past crushes we've had with rock stars. I was thinking this type of thread might go over well here as well. I don't know if it was Paul D. who also mentioned that Sheryl Crowe seems to get even better looking as she gets older but I distinctly remember someone on the list mentioning that. We also know how much fRed Sun adores Alison Moorer (here's your chance to gush about her all you want, fRed! :-) ).

Probably everyone on the list has a crush on Neil to one extent or the other, male and female alike. I don't think you necessarily have to be of the opposite sex to have a crush on a rock star. I'm sure they're are some guys on the list who took to dressing like Neil, or wearing their hair like him or even playing air guitar to his music when they were younger. I've had a crush on Neil for over 30 years now.

Other past rock star crushes I've had when I was younger were: Barry Cowsill (of The Cowsills), Peter Tork (of the Monkees), and Greg Lake (of ELP). I also had a minor crush on Suzi Quatro since I thought she looked really cool in her leather outfit.

I think we should restrict this thread to rock star (and other musician) crushes since this is a music list. We could move on into the realm of movie stars but let's try to keep it in the musical realm.

So here's the question for the list: Have you ever had a crush on a rock star (or other musician) in the present or past?

Okay Sharry,

You got me to bite on this one. Especially since it was I who said that Sheryl Crow is better looking now at 40 then she was at 20. Obviously, she's up there on my list. Who hasn't had a crush on Stevie Nicks? (rhetorical question) I have had and still do have crushes on Carly Simon, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Grace Slick, Ann and Nancy Wilson, Madonna, yes I said Madonna, Annie Lennox, Gwen Stefani, Debra Harry, Crissie Hynde, Susanna Hoffs, Belinda Carlisle, Linda Ronstadt, and Sade. I'm sure there have been more, but I'm getting old and my memory is fading... Rock on Rustland!!

I've always wanted to make it with Petula Clark on an
organic golf course on an afternoon when none of her
songs were being prostituted at the Super Bowl.

It was definitely not a Sign of the Times, but when I
was in college (1978-82), I knew a place, downtown,
where I wanted to sleep with Petula in the subway.
Spindling Tonight's the Night would merely annoy my
pals, but an evening of Petula actually caused the
neighbors to call the cops one night. All night she
sang to me "Call me, maybe it's late but just call
me," and it drove me nuts that I didn't have that
number. She was a TFB if there ever was one, and that
accent was hot too. I believed Her completely when
she sang

Something happened to my heart
The day that I met you
Something that I never felt before
You are always on my mind
No matter what I do
And every day it seems I want you more

My punker friends just never got it, and neither did
my MBA friends. That must be why I'm the only one
who's with a brown-eyed blond today. Does Petula have
brown eyes? I don't remember. But that's ok. Nobody
on this list seems to know what color Neil's eyes are
either. No, rust is not a color, but a condition.

Clark/Young, a great team. Stack em alternating on
that spindle.

Ok, Ok, when I was a mere pubescent nearly all of my fantasies involved
Olivia Newton John.

More "mature" crushes involved Janis Joplin, Michelle Phillips, Tina Turner,
Minnie Ripperton, Poly Styrene (of X-Ray Specs)
more recently all the grrls in Sleater-Kinney, Jewel, Dido, Shakira (in a
big, big way)

never Grace Slick
never, never Yoko Ono

enough to think about before breakfast, I'm sure more will come rushing into
my head throughout the day

I stand corrected. The dreamer in question was actually Bruce Devney. (Sorry
Paul!)

of course, that was the after-the-goldrush neil that i first fell for...but
i've gotta say, the years have been kind to that crush...neil is really

remains...
Same here. I fell for the ATGR Neil and he's my only rock-star crush still
remaining. All the others have fallen by the wayside.

I am not gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) but
if a were, or I were a woman I would have to say that I would be very
attracted to Eddie Vedder and possibly mick Jagger, hypothetically

of course.
And if I were gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) I think I
would be attracted to Chrissie Hynde, Linda Ronstadt (in her younger days),
Sheryl Crowe, and perhaps Alanis Morissette.
