I called a local New York station a few years ago to win few WHO

When my sis was living in Vancouver, she phoned into the radio
station and won tix to Madonna in Seattle. She said Madonna put on a
great show. At a Lollapolooza concert, this middle-aged biker from
Chilliwack won tix on a radio phone-in. We were all standing in line
and he commented to us that "These people all seem so weird!" (He
mentioned all the tatoos and body piercing.) I replied that they're
really just Ordinary People once you get to know them. Even the
Vancouver City Police actually respected this crowd. One officer even
remarked "Gee, I wonder why all these people are drinking water out
of Budwieser bottles." LOL!

ps We were always told that seamen wore one earing for each sea they
had sailed on, the maximum being seven, of course.
pss The above-mentioned Lollapolooza featured Hole and Sinead
O'Connor, among others. Sinead's set was a highlite of my life. She
just looked like a roadie, standing at the microphone, wearing a
plain white blouse and jeans, but when she started singing you knew
she was no roadie. They say that she's been known to blow amplifiers
with her vocals alone. But the bottom line was that she just seemed a
shy, ordinary person who just wanted to be accepted. It was shortly
after the Bobfest experience and she wasn't sure how the audience
would react to her. We LOVED her and let her know it.
