YOTH movie "Rant"

Hi folks,
Thought you'd find this interesting. In the Jan/Feb 2002 issue of
IFC Rant magazine (from the Independent Film channel), there was a
column which really puts down Year Of The Horse, which was shown on
IFC this month.

The column on p. 16 is called "Watching IFC--Brandon Judell Reacts To
Upcoming Programming on the Independent Film Channel." There is one
paragraph on YOTH and it is VERY NASTY.

"Which brings us to Jim Jarmusch's Year of the Horse (1997), a
documentary on Neil Young's world tour. Ho-hum. Where's RuPaul when
you really need her? For 98 minutes, you get to hear the aging
rocker sing his less-than-best songs. That he's surrounded by a
mediocre band, Crazy Horse, makes this one a must for masochistic
insomniacs. Not since Kathie Lee Gifford has an act had less stage
presence."

I've never read anything so harsh as this against Neil. Why don't
some of us rant back at IFC? Here is the email address of the editor:

Yeah, something like-- "So, you watch one movie and you think you can get
the essence of CH. You artsy fartsy types think you can understand 30 years
of insanity by watching one movie." Then send the same message to them 3 or
4 times.
