I hadn't used my AA230 Zoom for a few months and when I tried to turn it on, the batteries were dead. I replaced the batteries and the analyzer works, but I noticed that it would turn itself on randomly. It seemed to stop but after a week, the batteries are dead again. I'll have to store it with the batteries removed until someone finds a fix. Thanks for any help. -ken-

I have a few questions re the cable length function. Does it measure the actual length or the electrical length? I know that there can be differences between the published velocity factor for a cable and the actual measured which can cause discrepancies. This brings me into the Cable loss function. I run the analysis with the open and short measurements say on a 3ft piece of LMR 240. The reading is 0.6db loss at 450MHZ which I believe is for a 3ft cable which would be a 20db/100ft @450Mhz which is terrible for a not so bad piece of coax. Am I doing something wrong? Thx. K1PCN

I've had the AA-230 ZOOM for several years so the only means of connecting it to the computer is with a USB cable. I see that Antscope2 is now offered in .deb packages which do install cleanly on Debian 12. The system recognizes the AA-230 and on this particular machine assigns it to /dev/ttyUSG2 due to other attached devices. I have tried versions 1.3.4, 1.3.7, and 1.3.9 and neither will capture the device name or port and populate the connection dialog. Starting antscope2 at the console shows that it does query the system for the devices and returns the following for the AA-230 ZOOM: "ttyUSB2" description "RigExpert AA-230 ZOOM" manufacturer "FTDI" productIdentifier 24577 vendorIdentifier 1027 serialNumber "" systemLocation "/dev/ttyUSB2" It would seem useful if I were able to debug whether the stanza is not being captured or parsed correctly. It appears there is no provision for connecting to the analyzer after manually entering the device name and port into the connection dialog since the scan appears to fail. I have tried the analyzer on another machine that has an MS Windows 10 partition and the software picked up the analyzer as expected, so the analyzer hardware appears to be functional. My AA-230 Zoom failed 13 days past the 2 year warranty and I was told it was probably caused by static discharge and the 7 bridge resisters and possibly the HF switch IC may need to be replaced. The schematic I have is old and it does not appear the HF switch IC is an ADG779. All that is printed on the IC is "G0S". Does any one know what the the current IC might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey all.... I just installed AntScope onto Mint Linux (Ubuntu variant) -- and while AntScope scans and gets a response from the AA-1400 when using COM as the device category, the fields don't populate letting me select the unit. I can provide more -- but basically when I look at the terminal from where I run AntScope2, I see this: "ttyUSB0" description "RigExpert AA-1400" manufacturer "FTDI" productIdentifier 24577 vendorIdentifier 1027 serialNumber "" systemLocation "/dev/ttyUSB0" Thoughts? I have an AA-55 Zoom that I can not get the Save or Retrieve functions to work- as described on page 10 in the manual. I take a reading, then press 6 to save it and nothing happens. Same if I press 9 to retrieve a saved reading- nothing happens. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to correct this prob;em?? 73 Paul w2eck

I've been having trouble seeing my display on my AA-230 outside in the sun. I have tried changing the "palette" with little improvement. Can anyone suggest any solutions? Tnx, Mike W9RE

Trying to connect my AA230 to my laptop via USB, when running Antscope the software doesnt find the analyzer......do I need to install any drivers or something ?

I finally got my AA-600 up and running on my Mac Studio M2 Max. It did not show up in Antscope2 but showed up in System Information. I followed this to get it working. The chip set on AA-600 requerid a driver, The 1.50 driver worked since this is made for ARM cpu. https://arduino.stackexchange.com/questions/91111/how-to-install-ftdi-serial-drivers-on-mac I hope this will help others that have struggled with this problem.

Just installed new firmware and software. My AA-230 is not recognized by any of my computers or laptops. It is shown as "unspecified" in the devices tab. Any thoughts? Thanks, Michael

I have a 230 Stick on the latest firmware version. Also an iPad Pro with Antscope for IOS installed. I plan on measuring my impedance / VSWR at the feed point of my large Horizontal Loop Antenna using a banana plug adapter for the wire ends and a BNC to PL-259 adapter to attach the 230 Stick in Bluetooth mode. Before going any further to take down my 4:1 balun and disconnecting the antenna etc, I was wondering just what is the range or distance that the bluetooth from the 230 Stick is to an iPad Pro with Antscope. Does anyone have any in field experience with this? My antenna feed point is 50 feet up above ground. Thanks in Advance, 73 Art W1SWL

Hi Alex and thanks as usual for all the hard work, especially trying to support us Mac users. Just FYI, I tried to open the new AntScope for Mac OS on my new M2 Studio with OS Ventura and although the .dmg file opens and I can save it to the desktop I get the message that the file is damaged and couldn’t be opened. Old file still works FB on Mac with Intel. Hope all is well! 73 - Dino KL?S

Previously when I clicked on a part of the SWR chart there would be a popup box that showed the data for that point. Same thing for a right click on a plot on the Smith chart...now the Smith shows an empty box. Can't find a setting that addresses this. What am I missing? 73 Randy N4TDT

The AntScope2 status line at the top of the window changes to "Analyzer not connected," and remains so if I switch back to the main page. I can use the Connect function on the Settings page, but it takes me back to the main page and the process repeats. I have tried two different computers with the same results. I have tried the Androis app, and it does work properly. I submitted a report to RigExpert a few days ago. Is there a known solution? Alan, WA4SCA

I am not sure where to offer a proposed new capability for Antscope2 so am writing it here. If it is possible, without too much trouble, or disturbing other areas of the code, to add the ability to customize the Band Bar color, which is currently gray, to an arbitrary color using the same color selection scheme as that for the SWR lines that would be great.
