TDR with AA-230 Zoom 4
I have an unknown length of Davis Bury-Flex on a Spool and need about 100ft. I have the settings for the Vol factor (82%) and ran the TDR. It starts at 14.9ft at the center its 127ft and at the end 238ft. Does this mean I have 127ft? I take the center(end of coax) then reflex back? 73 Larry K1ZW Durham, NC

AA230 Zoom CORRECTION 5
Sorry, I meant “since you guys are no longer in the EU” - of course you are in the UK. (hi) ============================================================= Gordon, I had an issue with my AA-54 and sent it to Slovania for repair. Very quick turn-around. Since you guys are no longer in the EU, contact Moonraker. They are the local service point for the U.K. Also, see: https://rigexpert.com/where-to-service/ 73 – Rick, DJ0IP

AA-230 ZOOM Bluetooth 8
I just received my new AA-230 a couple weeks ago. I can’t get the AntScope to connect via Bluetooth on my OnePlus 8 or my Samsung G9. When I go into my Bluetooth settings the AA-230 is listed but no matter how long I wait the little Bluetooth icon just spins. It connects to my friends iPad no problem. I thought I would try to update the firmware. However, once the AA-230 back light starts flashing the software freezes for several l minutes resulting in an error that says “ Can not set device in boot mode”. The firmware update software does not indicate what version of firmware is available so I have no idea if I need an update. Not sure if it matters but I don’t use MS Windows so I created a vertical environment using Windows 10 running on Linux. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

AA230 Zoom 2
Sorry for 2 previous incomplete messages. I think I found the enter key on the numeric keyboard actually sends the email when I wanted a carriage return. I will not press it again. I think I zapped my trusty AA230 Zoom with some strong RF. I now have error codes Test 1 - 35, Test 2 - 103 and Test 3 - 255. What are my options to have it repaired given the current horrendous state of affairs in Ukraine? Many thanks. Gordon MM0GPZ

Sorry, I mistakenly sent a previous message in error before I was finished. My trusty AA230 Zoom has become faulty likely due to strong RF. All 3 tests fail: Test 1:

AA230 Zoom
My trusty AA230 Zoom has developed faults in the presence of RF I believe and is now giving incorrect results. It failed self test 1, 2 , and 3 although I think 3 always fails as I was using wrong type of 50 ohm load. Test 1:

AA600 not calibrated on SWR and ALL funtions
I can calibrate the analyzer on the #5 scan graph function and interrogate it with F1 and the data agrees with the scan. However, if I use the "ALL" function, I get an uncalibrated result. The SWR functions do not exactly agree with the SWR on F1 either. Is there an update that fixed this issue?

AA-55 Zoom error codes 6 #AA-55-ZOOM
I went to use my analyzer to finish tuning my loop antenna and it would not read swr anywhere. I did a self test and it showed an error 35 for the first test and an error 103 for the second. After reading some other messages with similar issue, i took the cover off and found some damaged resistors. My question is, should I replace just the damaged ones or all of them ( i think there are 6 that looked to be part of the bridge). Is there a schematic or board layout available? 73 Jack KR9Q

Two RigExpert models disagree on stub length? 10
I have an older AA-230 Zoom and a 6ish month old Stick Pro. I went to make up a 1/4 wave stub to notch out some interference and by accident discovered that the two units disagree. The Stick Pro says 97.991MHZ and the AA-230 says 96.409MHz. I set them both to check the length of the stub and the result was identical on both. Another weird thing is that the AA-230 when set to TDR and a sweep is started, it says you can cancel the sweep by hitting the X (cancel) button. If I do this, the AA-230 locks up and I have to remove a battery so it resets and then re-install the battery and all other functions work fine. The AA-230 passes ALL the self diagnostics and has been updated to the latest firmware. This leaves me with the question, which one is reporting an incorrect stub length frequency and is there a problem with the AA-230 TDR mode locking up the unit when cancelled. If the TDR scan is allowed to complete, the unit behaves normally (The TDR scan with the AA-230 in much slower than the Stick Pro, but I'm assuming it's simply a faster processor in the Stick Pro). Does anyone have any advice? Regards Chris VE4FU

AA-230 SWR2AIR issue
My AA-230 does the SWR2AIR thing, but the transmission has no audio, it's just a carrier and very hard to hear. Is there something I can do, or will it have to go back for repair? regards Christian

RigExpert 1.2.6 on Mint Linux 21.x
Hey all, Recently new user to RigExpert and just recently moved my laptop (once I got the EOL warning from microsoft) from Windows 8.1 to Mint Linux 21 (Mate Desktop) The AppImages I'm guessing are too old. Neither 32/64 bit versions work for me. That's ok though. So I downloaded the AntScope2 source, built the binary on the system intended for use -- and found it works, sort of. It detects my AA-1400, but after maybe a sweep or 2, no longer seems to read back data... AND -- even if I set a Freq span using limits or center/span, and hit sweep, the display re-scales out for full range anyway. * After the sweep appears to be finished, the "busy" mouse cursur doesn't go back to idle -- or takes a strangely long time to. (like maybe I click something else and that resets it) - the red-dot sweep indicator seems to be part of it. It stays on a long time after the sweep is done.. sometimes goes away - but it takes a while. * When I do the 2nd (or more) sweep where the serial IO seems to break, this message comes up on the console: QIODevice::write (QSerialPort): device not open Is this a problem with Qt5 libraries? Also, running AntScope keeps putting these two files on the system: 'Not Chosen' and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT (windows?) Other quirks include: * The measurement window disappears when left-clicked to grab and move... but then clicking on the results graph brings it back. * There's message saying: Settings::openCablesFile: Error: Len != 7 Anyway - let me know if/what infor I can provide. Cheers, -Ben

An *Unofficial* User Manual for AntScope+Android+BlueTooth 5
After many hours of trial & error using ANDROID + AntScope-2 + BlueTooth with an “AA-230 ZOOM” and “230 Stick”, I feel I have finally learned the ropes of using this combination. In the meantime I have made dozens of measurements on different antennas, with the analyzer attached directly to the feedpoint of the antenna. I have written my experience into a document – call it the Unofficial User Manual for using AntScope-2 + ANDROID + BlueTooth with RigExpert analyzers. If you are interested, you may download a PDF manual, here: https://www.dj0ip.com/AntScope-BlueTooth 73 - Rick, DJ0IP (Nr. Frankfurt, Germany) May the Sunspots be with Us!

AA-30 Zero Problem 22 #AA30zero
Ok, so ive had this analyzer for about 2 or 2.5 years. In this time, its been an amazing tool and helped me with antenna design and installations many many times. I keep it in a anti-static bag with the Uno when not in use to prevent any problems with static etc. Last week it was working great, today, i pulled it out of the bag and connected it, and im now getting dramatic false readings. I thought it was maybe the antenna or even PC i was using, so i switched both, and had the same results. So i connected it into my HP 8924C to use the 50ohm internal dummy load as a reference. Ive attached a screenshot of a full range scan. You can see something is wrong with the analyzer by the readings shown. :( Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated!! David
