AA-230 freezing up #AA-230-ZOOM

my rig expert AA-230 ?antenna analyzer is having issues and I can¡¯t seem to find any other advice on the internet,or company website.
Using it to check SWR it will suddenly give a high reading and none of the functions will work even the power button, essentially ¡° freezing¡± ,the only way to remedy the machine is to remove one of the batteries and restart, and this can go on for 3 or more times before getting a decent reading.
This is the second unit I have had with the same issue,I returned the first one for a new one within a couple weeks because of the same issue, but this one seems to have the same flaw, but if I had 2 units with the same flaw you would think others are having the same issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

Dear Richard,
?
What version of firmware is in your analyzer?
This information is displayed on the screen when the analyzer is turned on.

This problem can occur when you have a lifted ground, or too much RF coming back down the coax.? Typically this issue is obvious when you are making measurements on the low bands such as 80 and 160 meters. Most usually this is caused when the wrong farrites have been chosen in the balun, or not enough inductance is used.? You need to begin by making sure that your analyzer is indeed isolated from the antenna that it's testing.

The software version is 1.109 serial number 02718

I¡¯m not sure if this applies to my situation as I always use my analyzer without any rf going into the antenna, the most recent episode I was building a yagi antenna for 2 meters per instruction from an online magazine and trying to find resonance with the elements and the device kept freezing up,not allowing me to make any adjustments with the keypad and the display had froze....the only way to re-set the analyzer was to remove a battery disconnecting the power.Fresh batteries made no difference.Very frustrating indeed while trying to get an accurate measurement.

I would certainly hope that you're not transmitting with your radio in to the antenna while testing it. However, your analyzer is, that's how it checks the antenna. ?Therefore it could be that RF on the coax causing the issue. Since it's a yagi, I would consider checking the gama match first. After that I would check the coax for loss and impedance using the tools section.?
Are you having this issue with any other antennas?

Never had anything transmitting while testing?
and I have had the same trouble when analyzing other antennas too, a vertical on my car, a G5rv
and a 97¡¯ doublet?

Hello everyone!
?
We have several messages from our customers about similar behavior of AA-230 Zoom analyzer.
Our engineers put forward the theory that this bug is caused by picking up the RF field at the time of scanning the keyboard.
Now there is a process of creating a test firmware in which the algorithm for scanning the state of the keyboard will be changed.
?
I will let everyone know when the firmware is ready.
?

Hi Alex
I have the same problem that results in my device freezing and the only way I can reset it is to remove the battery or the usb cable. I¡¯m running the latest software and the latest version of Antscope, but I still have the issue.?

what do you recommend?

kind regards?
