Re: CASE FOR STICK 230

Why not use a pelican case? In the states there's a cheaper version of them but the pelican is still not that expensive.

Just SWR. It should be a flat 50 ohms across all bands. On Thu, Dec 29, 2022 at 12:03 PM TG9AJR Juan <tg9ajr@...> wrote: OK thanks, and then which of the Stick 230 test I have run on the coax/dummy load ? |

Check Coax Stick 230
Hello and newbie question, I have a Stick 230:
Can I take just a measurement of a run of coax without the antenna on the other end in order to determine if the coax is good ? Besides checking the SWR on the antenna, is there a proper way to check the coax as well as jumper coax using the Stick 230 ? Thank you. HNY 73 Juan TG9AJR |

Hi Roger,I don't think there is such a document available from RigExpert.? Most of their Analyzers are one port Vector network analyzers that use a bridge and a down convertor like the AA-55 Zoom drawing below.? The digitized analog signals are are used to calculate the S11 reflection coefficient.? From their R, X, VSWR are all pretty standard computations as detailed in the document I posted early.? The tools like cable stub, impedance etc. is where they have their own versions developed from VNA theory.? The AntScope 2 software is available as Open Source so if you dig into the code you might find how some of their algorithms work.? Roger |

Hi Roger,
Have you found an online source for RigExpert¡¯s documentation of how they explicitly compute these parameters in their analyzers?I¡¯ve been searching for that documentation. HNY, Frank K4FMH --- Frank M. Howell, PhD Ridgeland, MS frankmhowell (at) hotmail.com --- |

I'd like to find SWR given F, R and X outputs from my AA-600. Can somebody give me an equation or online resource? Thanks!First you have to compute the complex reflection coefficient Gamma in the form a +/-jb Gamma = (Zl-Zo)/(Zl+Zo)? where Zo is 50+j0? and Zl = R +/- jX Then you convert gamma from the? rectangular a +/- jb? form to? P@angle polar form. Then VSWR = (1+P)/(1-P) It is all described in the attached document with an example... Roger |

Re: Antscope2 Documentation
The only documentation on Antscope I have is from a .pdf manual dated 2019-03-20
It appears to be from my AA-230 Zoom but the software does not really care about which RigExpert you are using. I have used Antscope with an AA-600, AA-230zoom bt and my current AA-2000 hope this helps and if you do find an more current manual please let us all know. THanks 73 Art W1SWL |
