Hi,
I made the updates to my WIN10 allready. But no BT connection only via USB is possible. See the screen. In the WIN10 settings BT section there is no BT connection available for the RigExpert Pro so this should run as far as I understood this. 73 de Erwin, OE1EKG |

Folks, thanks to everyone who participates in testing.
?
So, a little addition.
?
There is no need to connect the analyzer in advance in the Bluetooth menu of the operating system. The AntScope2 program will automatically find the analyzer. If you already have an analyzer "paired" then try deleting it.
This may be important for Windows 10. For Windows 11, I did not notice any difference.
?
As practice has shown, when AntScope2 is first launched and connected to the analyzer, the probability of failure will be 99%.
Therefore, we close AntScope and start it again. This time the success rate is about 100%.
It is not yet clear why this is happening.
?
There are failures when taking a screenshot of the analyzer via the BLE.
Transferring saved data from the analyzer to a PC usually works fine.
?
I remind you that full support for BLE in the Windows kernel appeared only in Windows 10 later releases.
Therefore, even if you are using Win 10, then it is in your version that full support for BLE may not be available.
?
For macOS, we have the ability to make the program version only in .dmg
If you get an error that this program cannot be launched because it was not downloaded from the App Store, then try this tip:?https://www.easeus.com/computer-instruction/open-dmg-files-on-mac.html#Method_4_Open_Dmg_Files_When_the_Error |

Upon initial boot of Antscope2 1.3.0, settings were changed to select BLE as the connection.? AA-3000 ZOOM was started up and immediately found (AA-3000 00062 displayed with MAC address).? "Use same selection for future connections" checkbox was selected.?
?
AntScope2 ribbon bar displays "AntScope2 v.1.3.0 - AA-30" instead of AA-3000 ZOOM.
?
Full range SWR chart only shows 100 - 30,000 (likely because AntScope2 believes this to be an AA-30). Changing the Stop freq to something greater than 30 MHz automatically reverts the Stop freq back to 30 MHz when Single is pressed.?
?
"Screenshot from AA" button doesn't show anything and progress bar doesn't move.
?
"Data from AA" button crashes AntScope2.
?
After restarting AntScope2 1.3.0, AA-3000 ZOOM does not automatically reconnect. Turning analyzer off and back on does not force a reconnect. Closing and restarting AntScope2 again allows for a reconnect. This is repeatable. Subsequently closing AntScope2 and restarting it does allow for automatic reconnections to the analyzer.
?
Overall, a good first beta release.? Lots more work to do, but now there is at least a BT connection between PC and AA-3000 ZOOM. Regards, Brad Morris |

I did confirm that the Apple Silicon versions work great.

I was going to test the Mac version on an Intel Mac but it is an Apple Silicon executable. If you can compile it and the FlashTool as universal apps I can give it a try.

I hope today finds you well! I have updated the firmware in my AA0650 Zoom. I have installed the beta Antennascope. I have turned on Blu on the analyzer, and the computer. The computer is paired with the analyzer. When I select BLU, the screen on the analyzer dims, then after a few seconds returns to full brightness. I am unable to perform any control functions, scans, etc. via antennascope. Do you have any suggestions? 73, and thanks, Dave (NK7Z) ARRL Volunteer Examiner ARRL Technical Specialist, RFI ARRL Asst. Hello friends!
?
We have released a test version of AntScope2 with support for connecting analyzers via BLE.
?
Now the connection of the analyzer to Antscope looks like this:
?
Can be connected via USB cable and HID interface (for new analyzer models).
?
You can connect via a USB cable and a virtual COM port (for older models of analyzers with an FTDI chip, as well as for AA-55 Zoom with Bluetooth Classic).
?
Can be connected via BLE (for analyzers with BLE module).
?
We tested the operation of BLE with Windows 10 (build 2021) as well as Windows 11.
In earlier versions of Windows, connecting via BLE will not work.
?
We do not have the ability to test the operation of BLE and AntScope2 for macOS. I would be grateful if you take this upon yourself.
?
There is no version for Ubuntu yet.

Don't forget to update the firmware of your analyzers using FlashTool:?

70 cm Question
I have the 650 ZOOM with firmware 1.9. In the Americas we have access on 70 CM between 430 and 450 MHz. The SWR graph only shows in the Gray area between 430 and 440 MHz. I have selected the different regions of the world to see if this changes but it does not. It looks like a bug in the firmware that only shows this 10 MHz area as being Gray but it should show Gray for the entire 20 MHz area of 70 CM Bruce ?N7XGR |
Measuring the resonance of a loop segment
#AA-230-ZOOM
The subject of the post doesn't really sum this up, but it's the best I could come up with. Bear with me...
I'm building a 6m uniform current loop as detailed?. The loop is 0.84 wavelength total, divided into seven segments, so each segment is 0.12 wavelength. Each segment is terminated with a capacitor to offset the inductance of the length of wire, therefore, each wire+capacitor segment should be resonant at 6m. I have built this antenna before without the benefit of an analyzer. It's rather tedious to adjust (but worth it in the end!) as each segment length must be adjusted to maintain the current distribution and subsequent pattern of the antenna. I am wondering if there is a way that I could use the analyzer to measure the resonance of each segment to get them all adjusted before final assembly. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! 73, Matt, N0EYE |
Antscope software wont recognize my AA230
Whats the trick to getting Antscope to connect to the analyzer? I saw somewhere something about ListRE, but I see no command like that in the Antscope directory. Also, the manual says something about pushing the up arrow button to enter PC mode, my up arrow just scrolls thru the menu??

Re: RigExpert Stick XPro Screen
From the photo on the RigExpert web site the StickProX display looks to be the same as the StickPro. The specs state it's a TFT as is the StickPro.
There are 5 different screens that you can select on the StickPro, Black/Lime Green, Black/Yellow, White/Blue, White/Red, and White/Orange. The XPro photo appears to be the White/Blue screen which works well in sunlight. I have a StickPro as well as an AA-230 Zoom. I use the StickPro for field use. Alan |
