PiGate on Raspberry Pi 4? 5
Hi all, Is PiGate v2.2 compatible with current Pi 4 hardware? I read a posting from Mark that earlier version of Pi 4 were working, but a more recent Pi 4 did not. That was at the beginning of 2021. However, he did not specify the version that did not work and I could not find any information that a new build had been made to fix the problem. We have some folks in our ARES - ACS group interested in building a few PiGates but are shy to buy the Pi until we know more and can get v2.2 working. PiGate v2.2 and GPS 8
I¡¯m running a fresh install of PiGate v2.2 on a Pi 3 model B v1.2. I have attached a G-Mouse GPS via USB. The messages log shows the device attaching to ttyACM0. cat /dev/ttyACM0 shows NMEA data streams and what looks like a position fix (though maybe not). The PiGate admin ¡°Set PiGate Location¡± does not show coordinates even after refreshing. V2.1 docs indicate PiGate is looking for GPS on ttyUSB0, which this isn¡¯t on. I also note the gpsd service is not running and it has been masked. Unmasking it still does not allow it to start. Now I¡¯m at a standstill on using GPS until I understand how it¡¯s been set up to work. Why is the gpsd service masked? Why won¡¯t it start on detection of the USB GPS device? (Yes, it was plugged in prior to powering the Pi). How do I tell PiGate to look at a different port for GPS detection? Thank you, Asa Jay W7TSC

PiGate v2.2 docs and default passwords 11
I have a copy of PiGate v2.2 zip that I downloaded a while back. I just yesterday attempted to install and configure. v2.2 boots on my Pi 3 just fine and I am able to get to the desktop login via a connected monitor, or the admin login via wi-fi and browser. However, I am unable to actually login to either interface. One uses the pi username but the usual pi password will not work. The usual default admin password doesn¡¯t either. To understand better, all I have is the v1.5 documentation, unfortunately. My guess is the default passwords were changed prior to or with v2.2. I realize Mark is not currently hosting any downloads and is recovering from other surgery. Therefore I am reaching out here after hours of searching the forum. Is there someone who can supply the default passwords for v2.2 or supply the docs and other artifacts for v2.2? Thank you, Asa Jay W7TSC - Spokane County ARES - ACS Emergency Coordinator

Raspberry pi ham radio setup software 31
Hey RaspberryPi 4 Ham Radio Group, So I have been working on a project for some time now and I finally feel that it's ready for some other folks to take a look at it and test it out. If you're into using raspberry pi computers for ham radio I have created a repository of scripts/playbooks to setup, compile and maintain/update radio tools on the pi. I finally released a version 1.0.0 at https://github.com/k2exe/k2exe-rpi-config There is some basic documentation in the README file stars and issues appreciated if you find anything. I have been testing on the latest raspberry pi OS and often use VNC to power my pis connected to radios in the shack. This isn't focused on portable operating out of the box but I do have scripts for setting up things like GPS time sync and real time clock modules. You may ask why you would use this over build a pi or other tools. The primary reason I created these was because Ansible(configuration management tool I'm using) is better at maintaining state than bash scripts and preventing redundant work during setup or updates. Thanks for any feedback and I hope someone finds it useful! 73, DE K2EXE Mark -- Join my ham radio discord server and follow me on Twitter @K2EXE

pi3b help needed 9 #hardware
Ok I need help. Im new to the PI and I bought a new pi 3b. I can put the android system on there but for some reason the wifi thats built in does not work. I installed android and got that running but the wifi just turns on then off. Ethernet connection works great but I cant use it as it has to be wireless. Its going to run the app for my cameras that are all hooked to a DVR that has constant ethernet internet. Im trying to get the cameras on a monitor in another room. The only issue I have is the wireless wont work and I know that has been an issue as so far I have read on the internet. I can put an android OS on it or the Raspberry PI OS with the desktop with no issues. Just cant get the damn wireless to work. Is there a wireless dongle that I can use and if so, which one and how do I put the drivers in for that. Please help guys..I want to learn but nothing is working. You can PM me of tag me in responses...Ill even pay for it.
