Professors, PLEASE!

 

Sometimes it is worth redundantly mentioning things and giving clear link addresses even when links are not requested. Thank you for that. Keep in mind that other people, besides the several people who are posted in a particular thread, are watching the threat. So sometimes more information than is being asked for is actually appreciated! Don’t apologize for giving too much information in response to a question. Thank you all for your expertise.

Getting aggravated at respondents to a thread for, apparently, treating you or other respondents as simpletons is also kind of off the mark considering how many people are learning from these exchanges.

Pretend for a second that you are a bunch of professors having a conversation in front of a class of students. Getting aggravated about the intentionally simplified explanations by the other professor is forgetting where you are standing and who is watching and listening.

It would be really helpful if the "Professors" and everyone else would quote their message to keep a thread going and not have to try to look back (some times weeks and months) to figure out what is going on. That is why messages like this are rather worthless "Thanks. From Other People".

Very well said. As a former Professor and somewhat new radio guy I whole-heartedly echo Tadd's gentle remarks.

Ah, the tyranny of the mobile phone. Unfortunately, it is effectively
relegating serious discussion, which necessarily requires more lengthy
messages, to history's dust bin.

In the same vein, I've been observing that people increasingly fail to add
the "ly" to the adverbs they use. I fear we are becoming less literate over
time...
