Ideally it’s a HAT direct or via USB C?Nigel

That's significantly moved the goalposts.

Is it really that difficult to understand what he is asking for???

He want to be able to run his Pi 5 (5VDC) from 12VDC, such as in a vehicle.

Steve The pi5 needs PD USBC?

Are you injecting to the rail on a pi5 today woth success?

Im currently using the top HAT pins and the PoE standards haven’t been published yet?

please detail you seem to have suggested the same as Nigel ?

kelly?

No Mick. He's now saying USB-C or a HAT. He's moved the goalposts.

I don’t own an RPi5.
I assumed 5VDC at 5A was sufficient.
I had not seen any mention of PD until Kelly’s post at 1407; must have missed that previously.
I’ll shut-up and go away now.

Michael

Look on ebay for a "buck converter."
12 volt to 5 volts. I run my raspberry in my rv.

POE standards aren't set by the pi foundation. It is an international standard for POE.? The only thing specific to the pi is pin location, and that was published before the Pi5 ever reached the market.
I'm currently running the Waveshare POE hat for the Pi5 which comes with it's own heatsink.? As far as feeding 5v to the GPIO header, it has worked for every version of the pi.? 5V @5 amps for the Pi5
That is how the POE hat powers the pi.?
