I've never had a bad experience with them.

Yep. Multiple items. Not as described (not even close on a couple), DOA, and finally quit buying from them. Takes forever to get a refund, and one item, a simple folding table, credit card company wouldn't give a refund because tracking showed it delivered...? The fact that it was delivered 2500 miles away, and the supposed folding table was listed by UPS as being a pallet weighing 800 pounds, they still wouldn't refund

Likewise.

Although I have never placed an order with Aliexpress, they started making charges to my credit card. Most were under $15, but they made over 300 transactions in a three week period. Could not reach anybody or get any response from Aliexpress. I filed a protest with my bank. Response to the bank from Aliexpress was all items were ordered and delivered. I never ordered or received a single thing. They refused to tell the bank what address the items were delivered to due to "Privacy Restrictions." It took a couple months until the bank removed all the charges. Had to cancel and reissue my credit card. Bank told me it took so long to resolve because they had so many similar complaints against them.

Stay away from Aliexpress.

Any online shopping has gotten bad with scammers on bank charges and false deliveries. I have a special low limit Visa that is only used for just that reason. And my porch video camera can verify actual delivery time and date.

I was wondering what made it "industrialized" ...

Hello David,

I ran across this video this morning:
leepspvideo does a fair job explaining the features of the Edatec RPi-5, and
also the Edatec industrialized display. You'll find a look inside the case,
comprehensive disassembly, and insight into its features and operation.
There are many useful links on the video page too.

Best regards,

In this video Randall Restle explains the "industrial" aspect of the EADTEC ED-IPC3020:

Now that I've got hands on the ED-IPC3020, it appears to be a well built and rather complete RPi-5 solution that includes M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD, Audio I/O and even a buzzer all within a fan-less metal case; these are things that would have to be purchased additionally to a bare RPi-5.? So, I feel it is priced competitively.

However, I'm finding the lack of documentation, other than this datasheet:?, frustrating, and the lack of a support forum leaves me without specifics regarding, for instance, how to use the buzzer.? Perhaps, when I find time to open the case, some of these issues will resolve themselves.? Also, the metal case appears to function well as a Faraday cage effectively disabling the RPi-5 on-board WiFi.? Of course, this is easily overcome by inserting a USB WiFi adapter.?

So far, the EDATEC ED-IPC3020 feels like a valuable addition to the RPi-5 marketplace.
