I use them in ALLSTAR and other hot spots and the RPI4 4M RAM is way over kill for ALLSTAR and not needed.? I am running 2 repeaters with just RPI2's and there is no issues. They have been on the air about 5+ years. If anyone is wondering the founder of the RPI foundation noted in a commentary about August, they they were producing 1/2 million units per month but he decided that commercial buyers would be given presidence in purchasing because "They have families to feed"... Between the lines it read- To hell with a Million Hams, all the school aged kids, all the foreigner students that $25-50 is a fortune..? The big quantity buyers were making RPI clusters to mine bitcoin... 1060RPI cluster for sale at a BITCOIN Convention So since Bit Coin has been in the news, I'm sure those big quantity buyers are scaling back and RPI foundation is looking to make their money more conventionally as they did when they started. Great that perhaps early next year Pi's will be more freely?available.
