开云体育Well done, Dave. It installed quickly on my RPI4 (8Gb, dual
monitors). And now for the "however." ;-) After getting my monitors to display the panel and desktop items on the desired monitor, I rebooted. Now the panel flashes on and off about six times, then vanishes. I can use the Documents folder to call up a terminal and run the vanilla lxpanel from a command line. It is stable on the desktop but fails to show the RPI menu icon. Any thoughts as to which configuration file I should back up,
then either tweak or remove for a refresh to restabilize the
original panel? With best regards, Pete - NM5PS On 12/7/20 11:00 PM, Dave Slotter,

I should add that when I discovered this and couldn't immediately track down the cause, I reflashed the OS, and again, after the install finished and the system auto-rebooted, all was well - until I repeated my tweaking of the arrangement of panel and of desktop icons. Again, with a fresh boot-up the panel flashed about six times, then vanished.

Am I doing something wrong or is version 1.2 quite a bit larger when extracted than version 1.1?
When I tried to burn an 16G SD Card with balanaEtcher, I got an error (the image is too large). So, I extracted the images locally and found out V1.1 was 12.11G where as the newer version 1.2 is 16.13G. Considering all I have is 16G SD Cards for my Raspberry Pi images, I'm unable to image an SD Card to get it to run. Is it possible to do a clean OS install and then a build? Any ideas for those of us that never got larger SD Cards? Eric, W7CSD |

Did a check on the WM site after the heads up on the cards.? Within the pickup and delivery side, they are listing the SanDisk 32 GB ultra class 10 cards for $9.48 and the 64 GB versions for $13.98. Can get free delivery or pickup depending on total order.? So add some groceries and hopefully it will all be good. this is in central Indiana.? Your mileage may vary and all that. 73s Chuck KD9DVB

开云体育After playing around a bit more, a hypothesis: A change from no
password needed to password required at login may be the culprit
(or not). In looking for ways to autostart lxpanel because the HamPi panel was conking out on login, I found instructions for setting up programs to autostart that only work if no password is required at login. So I followed the instructions and set up and configured the *.desktop file needed in a newly created /.config/autostart directory. I then made sure to reset my login option for no password, rebooted, and presto, up came a stable menu/application bar with all of the HamPi default entries on it. On a hunch, I deleted the /.config/autostart folder, rebooted again, and up popped a stable HamPi menu/application bar. At least I'm back in business, just in time for this weekend's SKCC Weekend Sprintathon.? ;-) With best regards, Pete On 12/9/20 3:59 AM, 4x4fdil@...
