fldigi on raspberry pi 4B

Interestingly, the pi4 works perfectly plug-and play with fldigi.? However, I can't get the pi4B to key the Signalink at all. The same settings are used with both the 4 and 4B, but the 4B can decode PSK31 perfectly, but no TX, any ideas???

Hi Jerry,

its strange. I have RPI 4 model B rev 1.4 connected to ts570D using
ftdi RS232 to usb, I can control the rig via the cat and also TX
without any problems.
try to figure out how the signal link tx your rig and if you have the
right connection to signallink

good luck

The other I have seen is that the audio level from the Pi to the Signalink might be too low to key the VOX circuit on the Signalink.

To fix/try do this:
1.? In a terminal window start the alsamixer
2.? Use the F6 key to select the USB Coder (Signalink)? Mine is Device=2
3.? Use the Up Arrow key to increase the level.? Mine defaults to 46.? Key the transmitter with a program (Tune) and Up Arrow until the rig keys.? Should not need to go higher than 50

If this doesn't fix the problem, then return it to the level you had previously and look somewhere else.

This was the fix for my SignaLink USB. I took the level to 48 and it’s working perfectly.

Dave, your advice is wonderful!!? I adjusted the 3B,4,4B and even the pi zero w and they all work with fldigi. Sooo, I left the zero w to be dedicated to fldigi, we'll see how it works when the local QRN, not QRM slows down after dark.? Again, many tkx, GL and plenty of DX, 73, KK4AC, Charles A.

Assuming that lower setting is generally better.? Started alsamixer and my unit was set at 100.

testing unit, found that needed it at least 30 to trigger signalink.? could trigger radio lower yet.

so decided to leave at 41 for now to have a little extra there.

thanks for this info
