I believe it was a Western Railways Ice Co. facility. The ice houses at Minturn and East Yard Alamosa were Western Railways Ice Co. Mark Hemphill

Looks like it could ice what - 50 cars at a time?

Pecans will o rancid if left sealed, faster in warm conditions, even more in Summer's heat.? Reefers for shipping pecans makes good sense.

To help date the picture, the car is a 1950 Chrysler Windsor - Unfortunately, I'm not good at identifying steam engines, but I can tell a car by it's grill :)
