to the? point .? its a? viable option , ebay -? 12v 20,000 mAH? ~ ?20 delivered ?
battery size/weight? ?is also? quite small? compared to the? original?

Might need a? lot of packing? in the? battery? box , probably room for? , two sets? !

If you go the Li-ION route, don't forget proper battery management/protection and the different charging requirements. And please forgive me if you already know about these issues.

Yes, that power/size/weight ratio is persuasive , but, the downside, may be emc issues from the battery management?
Not insurmountable,? but, you likely end up , with a novel solution , more art for art sake , rather than practical?

There are quite a few nimh? 24v battery packs on ebay of various , ratings,??
Disassembling one of those,? might be the simple option , as the cells will have?
Tag's and compatible chargers are also available ..?

I have a few ebay batteries, all nicad , all boxed and all work ok!

Could go that way , the extra capacity and weight saving from the?
New technology cell's,? is worth taking advantage of ,?
That and the much flatter discharge curve , adds to the
Usability , much shorter recharge time as well?

I used LiPo batteries for my RC planes. Very reasonable pricing. Cant beat the power /weight or power/volume. Cheapest battery size is 3 series 2200mAH packs, 12.6V fully charged. On a sale such a pack is ~ $10? and up for a 20C discharged rated pack. Series connect 2 packs and parallel up for more capacity. One store I often order from has a sale.


prices and shipping charges vary by region. As others have mentioned charging and discharging is important to follow the LiPo chemistry requirements.
I thought of using LiPo but I friend gave me some UPS maintenance pulls, so I am using NimH's at this time.?
