Racal manpack models list
Hi, All,
I'm working towards a database of the Racal equipment which interests us, beginning with the manpacks (including green handhelds and "squad" radios) themselves, and eventually including all the contemporary green equipment too. I'd begun this during the last few days, but thanks to member Alan, I now have a bigger list of manpacks which includes non-Racal models too. Eventually, I'll add a file of non-Racal manpacks, since most of us will be likley to be interested in these too. The following is the complete list of Racal (including BCC) models known to me. Before I finish adding a brief description and spec for each model, is anyone aware of any models which I haven't currently included? A13 A14HP A14LP A16 (aka PRC-316) BCC32V (aka SSB32) BCC39 BCC39C BCC66 "Jaguar-V" BCC70 "Jaguar-U" Caracal (PRM-4740A) Jaguar-U Jaguar-V MA4040A PRM4021 PRM4031 PRM4041 PRM4051 "Squadcal 2" PRM4090 PRM4515 PRM4700A PRM4720A PRM4735 PRM4740A "Caracal" RA929G TRA906 "Squadcal" TRA921 "Syncal" TRA929 "Minical" TRA931 "Syncal 30" TRA931A "Syncal 30" TRA931AP "Syncal 30" TRA931L "Syncal 30" TRA931P "Syncal 30" TRA931P "Syncal 30" TRA931PL "Syncal 30" TRA931PR "Syncal 30" TRA931X "Syncal 30" TRA931XH "Syncal 30" TRA931Y TRA967 UK/PRC344 UK/PRC349 UK/PRC350 UK/PRC351 UK/PRC352 best regards, Bob |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý?Hi Bob and Group,
?? I have the BCC-39B. The BCC-39( not B)? ?users manual I have shows it with US type audio connectors. I haven't learned anything about a "C" model but there is a BCC-39D which has a built in ATU instead of the clip on ATU and the display is LED instead of liquid crystal. There is also The next in the line called the Panther H which is a BCC-39D with the addition of frequency hopping.
?
?Looking forward to learning a lot more about the Racal manpacks.
?
?best regards,

Hi, Tom,
Yes, I've just checked with "Janes", and that shows MA. That's the first 4041 other than my own that I've come across! Do you have any of the items unique to this model - Remote Control Handset, Extended Control Handset? best regards, Bob --- In Racal-manpacks@..., Tom B <tbryan@n...> wrote: Hi All,4041.PRM-4040 is supposedly the same, a 4041 w/o the ATU,The 4040 I have is marked MA4040A, not PRM. Hi Bob,
That's the first 4041 other than my own that I've come across! Do youAll I have is the MA4040A RT. I might have the interconnect cable to the ATU but I am not sure, it looks like it should work. I think I have a carrying frame coming. I really need the VRA4026A AATU and antenna if anyone has them for sale. Tom |
There is my list of Racal equipment here.?
I do need to update it as I have found a number of new items and would welcome any additions others have. The PRM470A and B was also used by the Greek military and may have been made under licence in Greece. There was also a Chinese copy. //www.american-milspec.com/p-7036-tbr-115-transceiver-chinese-version-of-racal-cougar.aspx Regards Dave g1jwg |
It's info on the Racal Difan aerial if anyone can help with handbook/docs
Cheers

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHiThe PRM4720 was locally manufactured in Greece by Hellenic Aerospace Industries (HAI) from kits supplied from Racal in the UK. Several thousands of kits were supplied. Pirate copies of Racal batteries and some radios also originated from Greece.? PRM4720¡¯s were also locally manufactured in Spain and Switzerland in small quantities. Hi Terry
I don't know what Bob has done since 2004 and subsequently 2020 when the last post was made on this subject, but I've worked on it and my website at https://www.radiohistory.uk/Racallist.htm? has a comprehensive list of Racal equipment.? I see you mention manuals, is there a specific one you're looking for.

Hi, I hope you don't mind my unsolicited email but I have just had a look at your web site and noted you did not show a brochure for the Racal RA3711 HF receiver. I attach a scanned copy of the brochure for you if it is of any use? Not only do I have a copy of the brochure but I also have a RA3711 receiver. I also have somewhere copies of very old Racal Communications brochures dating back to the 1960's if they may be of interest? Good web site by the way. Best regards John Whitehouse ?G6LJU

There is also a 4720B2. I had a few of them that were made under licence in the Phillipines. They have an inbuilt speaker and microphone which is added by replacing the front panel. I designed the front panel for the PRM4720B. I've never seen it referred to as a B2 though.
