¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHoward

When you say vehicle mount, do you mean the VIU (PSU and Amp) or rails that
the 39 sits or attaches to?

Was that one I saw on e pay, and I take it it's working, all you have to do
now is find a way of attaching to vehicle, the rails or runners as some call
them, I could never find, I have 4 Panther 'H' in vehicle format, one in manpack
role, one of the vehicle ones comes up, synth out of lock, must strip it down
one day, I did that with three non working syncal 2000's, changed boards from
one to another, after 10 min's, all working, whoopee!

The PSU and Amp (I assume both are in it) that has switches for HP and Boost plus connections for Audio, Harness and ATU. Howard On 8/07/2010 17:48, Stuartjmckinnon@... wrote:

Yeah, missed out on first one, got the second on a second chance offer but should have bought the third at half price! Never mind, I have had the BCC39B for at least seven years, probably longer, and this is the first time I have seen the VIU come up for sale. Is brand new but I had trouble fitting the radio to it. Broke one of the mounts on the VIU trying to do up the spring clip then realised it had a block on top of the heatsink that was stopping the radio fitting properly. Took that off an all fine but now need to find out what some of the settings are and find a power connector.

As for mounting it, I will have a close look at how PA5TJ did it ( <>) and see if I can make one too. Howard VK4BS On 8/07/2010 18:26, Stuartjmckinnon@... wrote:

I have not found a handbook yet and the thing that puzzled me most was the mode selection switch that had positions L-R-A-I-Call. I figured that L=Local, R=Remote, I=Intercom but could not work out A until I saw my PTR4400 has basically the same settings and A on it stands for Automatic. That position is for the situation where two radios have their remote posts connected by a cable pair. When one receives, the other goes to transmit so the audio is rebroadcast.
I reckon that is what the A is on the BCC39 VIA (but am prepared to be proven wrong). Tomorrow I will try connecting the PTR4400 and BCC39B together and see what happens... Howard VK4BS |
