Trying to find a service manual for a Comcal TRA922 (XTAL'ed version of TRA921)
norm_bam
Hi group,
Does anybody know where I can get a copy of the full service manual for a Comcal TRA922 manpack? This is the crystal controlled version of the TRA921, covering 2-8 MHz, LSB, USB, AM and CW. I currently have some circuits and a few sheets of the manual, but need more information so that I can do a proper fault-findings and alignment. Regards, Norman. |

Norman,
Some time ago I had a schematic for one but I fed it into our company's data that were starting to sell Military packsets. Engineers spent MONTHS trying to figure what piece of equipment that schematic was for. I've retired now but don't think I could ask them for my schematic to be returned. Jim VE3DDY |

Hi Jim,
Thanks for reading the question and replying. Hopefully, somebody out there has the full service manual. I have the circuits but I need to know the specification limits before I start adjusting things. I would hate to blow the PA. The set I have has a much lower output on LSB. Question is, is it the LSB that is low, or the USB that is high, or??? I think something might be a little funny in the modulator as well. Hence the need for a manual. Regards, Norman. If the 922 is merely the crystal version of the 921, then I would expect the manual for either set to be useful for what you want. Chances are that the modulator, drivers and PA stages are the same for both sets. Maybe the service manual for the 921 is just as hard to find though. 73s Richard G7RVI norm_bam wrote: Hi Jim, |
