Seeking battery information/source
Evening all,
?
I'm after some information about a battery for the PRM4720/4515.
?
I have a charged battery (which soon won't be!) that I'm hoping to re-cell with three Lithium 18650 batteries and associated BMS. The battery that I have appears to be larger than typical batteries for this series of radios, in that its case is approximately 75mm high, hence why I think I can fit the 18650's in it.
?
So, two questions:
1) Can anybody tell me the correct part number for this larger battery pack?
2) Does anybody know of a source of this battery type (dead or alive)?
?
Unfortunately, the pack is devoid of any markings apart from a Red Racal label with a stick-on serial number label.
?
Any help appreciated.
?
Keith

Re: [Army-Radios] Fw: STOLEN radio PLEASE READ
开云体育So very Sorry to hear this, Stuart. Do you remember the serial number of the radio and the VIU? I know they are easily removable, but may help more if known by everybody who moves in these circles.73, Warren On 5 Aug 2024, at 19:29, Stuart Mckinnon via groups.io <stuartjmckinnon@...> wrote:

Fw: STOLEN radio PLEASE READ
Ladies and Gents Please diseminate Stuart G0TBI This happened at an event at South Cerney on the weekend ----- Forwarded message ----- From: Stuart Mckinnon <stuartjmckinnon@...> To: VMARS groups.io <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, 5 August 2024 at 19:18:18 BST Subject: STOLEN radio PLEASE READ
For those of you not on the various FB and WA groups that my Military vehicle Colleagues helped me with on Sunday On Saturday Night/Sunday Morning, My Lightweight or Airportable Land Rover was attacked and my Racal 2000 'V' was ripped out, by thieves, they removed the control cable and Coax Connector from the front of the VIU, but could not fathom how to disconnect the DC 2 Pin Larger Racal Power plug, so they yanked it away with the DC plug still in situ, leaving pos and Neg/Shield remnants of the cable behind, it was a good job I always switch off the Dist box. This must have been someone who had visited the VMARS compliment, and seen me talking or demoing the radio, who clearly took a shine to it, relieving me of it in the early hours The Theft has been logged with Glos Police and I am awaiting a Crime Number from SOC, Please keep your eyes peeled for a E Bay or Market Place of any other area that Mil radio is offered There is a Substantial reward offered for information received leading to offenders and or return of Eqpt This photograph is dated Jun 2023 and luckily that was in my gallery on my Phone If you can help contact me privately. Tank you Stuart G0TBI 07860 496516 Please feel free to diseminate this msg far and wide and maybe it will come to light! |

Re: Wanted Details / Circuit for IF convertor 4100020
Answering my own query...? It is indeed a wideband IF converter from 40.455 MHz to 21.4 MHz, designed to cope with a very wide range of signal levels.? It takes the IF input from before the first mixer roofing filter, amplifies that, and splits it.? One half returns to the receiver roofer, the other goes to a filter and +23 dBm level mixer fed by a 61.855 TCXO to give a 21.4 MHz 500 kHz wide spectrum.? Lots of LC filtering at various points and provision on the PCB for pads to set levels.? It runs off a single 15V supply.?? I shudder to think what this cost, the price of the high level MCL mixer alone is more than I paid for the whole thing.

RT422B
Hi everyone, I am restoring an RT422B, it is complete with PSU, cables etc. Very little information on the WWW. I actually used this rig to talk to Dave Dave Larsen, years ago. It has been mothballed for 20 years but I want to get it up and running again. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you, Ludwig ZS5CN.? |

Re: Racal Cougar battery chemistry?
Hello Robin,
thanks for hint. It seems interesting even although I was thinking about MA-4516B which is the container for 8x AA cells. It seems to be more flexible as cells can be replaced when they have died. I will try to contact them to check the availability and price. regards, Petr OK1RP |
