The radios in both cases uses 12v through the audio connectors or on the rear terminals. The battery for the BCC66 is the MA4025 it's also used on the PRM4090,4031,4021,MA4041 and the Cougar SMT unit.

Some confusing information appears, I have also A TRA967 with it's amplifier, the set takes a 12v battery yet the manual says the set ( and the amplifier ) can be connected to a vehicle supply ( 24v )

My manuel does state from 18 to 22 volts but as you say going myuch over 18 is pushing it I've run 18 .? with out problems im not dure why my finals are giving me problems im having it checked
