Re: RACAL PANTHER BCC715 BATTERY ELIMINATER
Hi Jeff
The BCC715 is a voltage conditioner/ regulator for the BCC70AT which is the BCC70 in a non manpack role.
The BCC715 input is 12-18v with a nominal 13.5v regulated output
The BCC70AT input is

Re: Racal Panther 10pin to Clansman 2pin 24v
A possible alternative perhaps??
I am sure this conversation is about the Panther V Radio... Testing into a
Dummy load...Output can vary depending on frequency..

Just wish I could find out about power via the battery connectors. I don't want to be the guinea pig!

Re: Racal Panther 10pin to Clansman 2pin 24v
Hi Stuart,
The other clue is the manual states in the 'clip in' config the 10 pin socket can be fed with 24v directly from the vehicle supply.
I would just love to know for sure regarding feeding it

2pin 24v Syncal VIU/Amp
Hi all, Lots of discussion on the "2 pin Clansman." I have a 100W Syncal setup. When acquired, it came with a 2-pin to 4 pin power cable. I don't need the 4 pin as I plan to connect it directly to

I have a feeling Not, I am sure the VIU steps down the 24v that you feed it with to then supply the radio, thats of course why you have a Racal battery of around 12-14v, if? anyone can comment

Re: RACAL PANTHER BCC715 BATTERY ELIMINATER
This comes back to the question of if the radio cam be powered with 24v via this connector and if it will then provide 20w output.
I would love to hear from someone who has tried.

RACAL PANTHER BCC715 BATTERY ELIMINATER
HI Group, looking for info on the above item which i believe is to run a panther radio from a 24 volt vehicle. this looks the same as the panther battery and fits on the back of the radio with a 2

Re: Racal Panther 10pin to Clansman 2pin 24v
I found my scribbled notes, the DC path actually isolates the antenna post rather than enabling the BNC
see notes attached
hopefully the attachment will be visible

Re: Racal Panther 10pin to Clansman 2pin 24v
The DC path enables the BNC, there is a pin diode switch inside the box behind the BNC socket any antenna with a DC path to ground will work, I had to replace the pin diode in my radio as it wasn't

Re: Racal Panther 10pin to Clansman 2pin 24v
I'm not sure on that as you can connect it to an external antenna even in the manpack configuration without a 24v supply.

Re: Racal Panther 10pin to Clansman 2pin 24v
One other thing that popped into my head with these radios is that the BNC antenna socket must have a DC path to ground in order to switch the pin switch away from the whip socket. The viu has a

If the original poster wants to try this and is in the US, I'll send it to
them and they can return it if it doesn't fit or send me postage if it does.

Re: Racal Panther 10pin to Clansman 2pin 24v
If the panther is the same as the yeoman it will mate, the pei-genesis catalogue show it as a 26482 connector in normal keying, it's the great thing about standards - there are so many!

Re: Racal Panther 10pin to Clansman 2pin 24v
Okay, so that would be a 10-12 insert with the cable end being female
and the radio end being male.
I have an MS3116F12-10S in the bins here. Will that mate? (I have all the
circular connectors in

Re: Racal Panther 10pin to Clansman 2pin 24v
On the yeoman radio the required mating cable socket is a size 12 shell 10 way MIL-DTL-26482 socket with 'N' normal keying, e.g 62GB-56T12-10SN.
Curiously the Yeoman VIU has 'F' keying on it's end of

Re: Racal Panther 10pin to Clansman 2pin 24v
Yes I've got mine with 20w via the rear 10 pin at the moment.
I'm also scared to try via the battery socket so was hoping someone had confirmed this working.
I see for the Yeoman they do make a 24v
