Re: TRA 921 Speaker Pic
Slowly getting my TRA931 into working condition. Is the audio output really as low as what the manual states ? 30mW with 200uV RF input, fix AF output 50mW into 50 ohms ? Does anyone of the schematic

Re: TRA 921 Speaker Pic
Tom, That looks more like it, the red with white stripe mic insert is the dynamic type used with a lot of the Racal kit of that vintage, and also looks like the correct 6 pin plug. 73 Al G8LIT

Re: TRA 921 Speaker Pic
The mic insert is a carbon type (red with a black stripe), and will not work with the Syncal set; the handset is probably the one used with the UK's A-41 No2 manpack, which used a carbon mic element,

Early Syncal Speaker
Found a shorted transistor in the Speaker amplifier. Subbed a rep lacement in and now have lots of audio. Listening to a net here on 3.933 and the receiver sounds very good and on frequency as well!

Re: TRA 921 Speaker Pic
The one on the right is either an MA909 or MA988. The one on the left I don't recognize. The MA909 is wired B +supply, F audio in, D ground and is 18V The MA988 is wired B +supply, F Audio in, D

Re: TRA 921 Speaker Pic
Yes it is 6 pins, but so too is the clansman of the same period. The connectors on my clansman audio devices(as well as early Southcom) look identical. But as Tom says, the index pins are different.

Re: TRA 921 Speaker Pic
The connectors are fairly easy to come by.? Clansman connectors will work, but the keying may be different.? You may have to grind off a key or two to get it to fit.? Do not force the connector on
