Re: How to limit the operational frequency of Syncal 30
James Puah
开云体育Hi Scot and all who responded,The MA925 synthesizer board manual and discussion with my fellow ham Jeff Yeo reveals that it is relatively easy to limit the operation to comply to the ham band It will be by means of reading data input ML 2, 6, 9, 11 and 13 (ref table 2 in pg 2-4 part 3 and table 3 in pg 2-5 part 3 in the MA925 manual) then compare these to a table of values representing the frequencies within ham bands, then enable ptt if the comparison generates a true status, disable ptt if false status is generated. This reading and comparing can be achieved by means of a small customed made microprocessor installed into the radio with relatively straight forward 'C' program code burnt into an Eprom to read and compare values. Guess the problem is solved and marriage to Miss Greenie (Syncal 30) saved ; ) 73 James Puah 9V1JP -----Original Message----- From: James Puah Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 2010 6:32 AM To: Racal-manpacks@... Clansman Ground Mounted Monopole wanted
I'm looking for a Clansman Ground Mounted Monopole "washing line" antenna in nice condition.
I've got one of the giant Racal low-VHF discones available as a swap. In nice condition, but the wire which runs through each element section is broken on one element. regards, Bob |

Info on RACAL 400 Harness - BCC 421E Loudspeaking/AMplifier
Michael Buckley
Has anybody any clues as to the whereabouts of information on the 400 series harness?
I would be interested in sales literature and specifically need full details of the 421E or variants loudspeaker and amplifier. it seems to work from the 24v harness via pin ?? on the 7 pin clansman style audio input. (mind you my two dont, but that is where the problem starts!) I can offer some interesting REME trials information in return Thanks Mike m1ccf/GB2RA |

PRICE LIST PRC-77 PARTS
Dear Group
Attached is the link for PRC-77 price list recently uploaded to the group FILES : Our firm is a legitimate company based in indonesia and we dont have any website and will most probably never have any. previously we only deal exclusively to government issued purchase order and we have legit papers for that - incl advanced payment bond, bank guarantee and performance bond issued by Bank of America (BofA). our contract is strictly government. including instructions from BofA addressed to the Commander in Chief of The Indonesian Army. we'd prefer to sell and ship them in whole. these merchandise have been sitting dusty for almost three decades but are kept and maintained in fine condition. as stated before - these are just leftover stocks that we are happy to clean out. :) My cell number is : +62 85 666 55 111 Current Address : JL. Jambu no.52 Menteng, Gondangdia - Central Jakarta. zip 10530. Indonesia. |

Re: How to limit the operational frequency of Syncal 30
开云体育I have never heard of hams being restricted in using only equipment with type acceptance or preprogrammed frequencies, except for things like the old Novice licenses in the US. Can you upgrade to a higher license category to use it? --scott ?This is?a?regulation that applies to Foundation level licence holders in the UK although it is widely ignored and not apparently enforced by the licensing authority, ?

开云体育Scot,Yes, bandstop filter is not enough, just like I can enable general transmit in modern ham radios by snipping of a couple of diodes, but that is the simplest solution that came to my mind before you mentioned about the PLL. I am holding general class in 9V1 land and they maintain strict regulations here, good for other band users, but no good for greenie lovers. 开云体育Hi Scott,It is regulator's requirement to restrict transmission within ham bands, hence the existence of these bands. Your technical suggestion sounds more feasible, I will study into it in more detail. I suppose I can use other radios but to 'maintain a marriage to a greenie', one has to think of a workaround intead of 'straight divorce'. Subject: Re: [Racal-manpacks] How to limit the operational frequency of Syncal 30 Why would you want to do this? It sort of defeats the whole idea. I suppose you could make a little board that would fit in the PLL divider ...... But if the operator isn't to be trusted to stay within the bands, maybe he should be using a different radio altogether. --scott |

If it's a legal matter, it probably needs to stop _exactly_ on the band edges,
not anywhere else. This means solutions like bandstop filters are not sufficient. I have never heard of hams being restricted in using only equipment with type acceptance or preprogrammed frequencies, except for things like the old Novice licenses in the US. Can you upgrade to a higher license category to use it? --scott |

开云体育Hi Ben,I tried that on regulator, but they don't buy the idea...sigh. James Puah 9V1JP ? Quite easy James............. ? dont turn the frequency knobs to any non ham band frequency...... ? then hey presto,? de milled. ? cherri pip. Ben. |

Re: How to limit the operational frequency of Syncal 30
James Puah
开云体育Hi Mike B m1ccf,Mine does too, but regulator does not permit use of it unless transmission can be restricted to ham bands, that is why I am trying to 'demil' it.... Sadly. James Puah 9V1JP James Have I missed something Its free tuning so covers all frequency within its band of operation. |

Re: How to limit the operational frequency of Syncal 30
Why would you want to do this?
It sort of defeats the whole idea. I suppose you could make a little board that would fit in the PLL divider circuit and refuse to allow division by values that would result in being outside the ham bands. But if the operator isn't to be trusted to stay within the bands, maybe he should be using a different radio altogether. --scott |
