I had two of Chuck's units at my shop. They were especially good for the annoying-to-
sync dual-plugged Airheads, not just the stock plugs Airheads.
NOTE that these meters are used with a snubber at each meter input....a snubber slows
down the air volume movement speed, which is much easier on the very sensitive
meter...and...makes it much easier to read the otherwise jerky meter. The snubber was
made in two types, both of which work about the same: Scintered (porous) material that
slowed the air movement, and the other type had a very tiny hole that did the same thing.
No battery or electronics was needed.
For years, these units Chuck put together were the best thing available for the purpose.
I still consider them really good, top-notch, and very particularly good for synching the
engines with two plugs per cylinder, since no plug shorting was needed.
Walus Engineering did all sorts of machining work, especially dual plugging and a battery
size conversion.
