Setting up P900 for Direct to Plate methods using QTR

 

Another PSA. I have wrestled with helping people set up their P900s for DTP use over the last couple of years. I think I have finally figured out a pretty solid workflow for getting this done. It has a number of steps, and is documented here:

Clay, 2.6 seems to be the max platen gap setting the 5370. Any thoughts on how to approximate your P900 DTP settings with this platen gap limitation?

From what I can tell, ?platen gap isn’t all that critical - the plates and carriers are well below that thickness - 1.1mm I think. I believe this is just there in case the media is curled slightly and it prevents accidental head strikes. I think the more critical thing is to define the media thickness relatively accurately.?
