QuadToneRIP install

I have recently installed QuadToneRIP to my PC.
When I add a tif file I get a message saying that tif file is not supported.
Jpegs work ok though.

Is there a solution to this?

Cheers, Paul

Hi Paul

Usually the issue with unsupported TIF files is the compression used when saving.
Just leave Compression OFF when saving file.

You'll need to try different things to see what the issue is on your program.
Do screenshots to show what you are doing.

Did you try with a tiff file not made by your computer/image software?
You can find free tiff test files on the net.

Paul,

QTR doesn't support TIF files with alpha channels. Make sure they are removed?

You could drop the tif file in the files section here, you would learn if others also can’t open it.

Hi All

Thanks for your help.
Problem is now solved

When I checked for tif file compression I only checked a file that I had prepared and it was OK (but I didn't test in QTR), the problem file that I had tried to import into QTR was from another source and I had not checked that it was uncompressed. Just assumed that it would have been. When re-saved in uncompressed form all is good.

Thanks again and apologies for extending this problem longer than I needed to.

Cheers, Paul
